I'm working on a Honda CB450 motorcycle. The new points wouldn't close to specs.

2008 rebuild, Comp roller cam, Cat stroker, RJC gridle, CPT66BB, PTE Stock Location IC, Champion iron, T&D roller rockers, 60# Mototron injectors w/Turbotweak chip, Monroe-ported throttlebody, RJC Power Plate, Jimmy-built trans w/Precision Vigilante converter, ATR SS dual exhaust, ATR rear sway, BMR upper and lower control arms, Edelbrock Performance shocks, Razor alky, Tinman cold air intake, MT street radials.

Oh, and Russ Merritt spark plug wires.

Yay! It's running. Starts right up and purrs like a kitten at 900rpm idle.

Anyone ever do strobe timing on an old Honda? When I remove the alternator cover, oil pours out. How the hell can I run and strobe the engine with all that oil?

i use a clear sight plug on my bikes they are v twins. hondas should have something similar. screw it in there and shine the light through it. if you find one be carfull not to screw it in so far that it hits the crank.
