The gouging has begun!

On the way to a neighboring city about 20 miles away this morning I noticed gas stations PACKED everywhere. Gas was 3.49 to 3.69 most places. On the way home half hour ago prices at most places 3.89-3.99 with one Sunoco station selling for 4.49! Every gas station is still packed with some places backed up out into the roadways getting in line. It's like a total frenzy I haven't seen since the gas lines of the 70's! Some station's have signs asking to get only 10 gallons....

You should have been down here last week. People were waiting for hours to get gasoline. With all of the power outages only a few stations were open.

I wanted to fill up last night as I was running on fumes. The damn 7-11 across the street from work was jam-packed with lines. So I drove 15 miles down the road and filled up in solitude with even cheaper gas. I come into work this morning and two half wits I work with are running around paniced because they heard $5.00 by midnight tonight. Who the heck starts rumors like this? Is it a rumor? My thinking is even if Ike hits there is a surplus of gas and Houston aint the only place refining gas. Besides there is going to be explaining to do because if a disaster is declared than that is price gouging and it's against the law in just about every gulf coast state that I know of.

It jumped up about 20 cents over here. I think it has only begun. I wanted to post this last night but I fell asleep. You could see price jumps even higher depending on severity of the storm. It takes days sometimes weeks to get a refinery back going again, and that's if there is minimal damage.

Went up 13 cents a litre so a tank is an extra $15 for a minivan. WHY would you line up for 2 hours to save $15??? Makes NO Sense???

Whats even worse is that the price went up already, like as if its costing the station more as of Midnite last nite all the way up here cuz of the storm IKE?? Thats just a BS Ripoff & thats it!

Nope. Filled up on the way to work this morning. Paid 3.59. Passed that same station on the way home from work and their posted price was 4.59
Regular.

Most station's prices are rising so fast they don't even have their prices posted. Lines are long everywhere.

Angry The usual BS...

They know the "price cops", and the media won't have time to bring the gougers to the forefront, B4 the prices go back down. So, the $1.00/gallon jumps will continue, until folks get wise to the scam, and stay away....
Even worse than the gas... 250,000 MORONS are now crying to be rescued, because they were too phuking stupid to heed the evac orders....Screw'm. Let them swim for 50 miles.

Gas $$

I have noticed one Sunoco station nearby that is selling for a bout .30 higher than the everyone else. there is another Sunoco station that doesn't have their prices posted, so I have no idea. Is there a Sunoco problem going on here? The interesting thing is the Sunoco that is higher than everyone else is empty. No one is going there, all the stations around are packed.
