As hi as $5.50 in Atl, this am.
Reportedly at $6.00, here in Madison, Ga. last nite.
A friend showed me a fax from his supplier.. It read: "no prices being quoted, due to unstable supply".
He said screw'em, when I'm out, I'm out.

There is no "unstable supply". Have people really become that programmed by the media?

Pilot and their affiliates are still charging 4.99 around here, while many brand names and stand-alone's are selling in the mid 4.50's.

Pilot is definately off my list of any future purchases. Talk about gouging.

Diesel is now 3.99, so guess I'll be back to driving my Excursion until the trend again reverses.

Oil is now trading for under a $100 a barrel.I guess the wall streeter gasoline futures traders need that extra boost before the holiday shopping season.
If a bird craps on a windshield of a gasoline tanker truck in Upper Manitoba and they find out about it; they will use it as an excuse to raise prices....
This has got to stop.
I understand the hurricane stopped production for two days but the fuel in the service station's ground tank was bought at last weeks rates! They arent even sure what impact the two day stoppage would have.

It is totally out of control, legally robbing us. We are not dumb people yet they are treating us as such. It is now under $100 a barrel from a record high of $147 on July 11th. So we have over a $50 drop a barrel and the most I have seen is a .20-.30 cent drop at the pumps. Doesn't make any sense. The price gouging has been going on for a long time now. Before the hurricane hit landfall the prices jumped .30 cents. This is bullsh!t!!

In this case it's not the oil/barrel price that's causing the high pump prices. It's the loss of refining capacity. (on top of gas stations trying to make some money off of existing ground inventories I'm sure as well).
Since maximum capacity is what it takes to meet normal demand, any snafu will cause supply to drop below demand. It happens every time the refinery's need to do a change over even without natural disasters.
