Rainbow Bridge

Our beloved Candy will be going to the Rainbow Bridge tomorrow morning. I'm glad ya'll can't see me, I'm bawling like a little boy.

"Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I know that feeling too and and it sucks, no other way to describe it. It hurts and you mourn and remember all the great times and eventually we got another one.

Dogs bring too much good and joy into your life not to get another one, you go into it knowing there they are going to break your heart as they don't live as long as us.

Very sorry to hear this Dave. I know how you feel too. It hurts. Time will make it hurt less. Go ahead and cry. I cried off and on for days after Eddie passed. It purges the hurt.

Sorry to hear you are losing such a beautiful dog.

I have lost a dog very dear to me and it really does hurt.
It's not like losing a family member it "is" losing one.

I want to thank all of you for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. It really does mean a lot to us!!!

Candy is gone to a better place now. She went to the Rainbow Bridge at 7:15 this morning. We have her (ashes) back already, and are comforted by the thoughts and prayers of all of you.

I will be conspicuously absent from the board for a day or two. I wish to take care of Kathy. She is quite inconsolable right now.

Again, thank you all.

Hurts now but it gets better! Soon, you will hear the pitter patter of a new one that needs love & attention! Hard not to do it all over again! The cycle continues & we get to cry real good every 10-15 years!
Take Care!

Having a pet is a tough relationship. Pets give us so much joy and comfort for so many years and when its their time to leave this world its devastating.

We know full well that day will come yet we still enter into it. Years of companionship in exchange for sadness in the end. Its weird.

All you can do is remember her life and know she served her purpose perfectly.

It sounds like you and your dog had a great time together.

It is sad to loose someone that had been there for you all of the time, no questions asked! We go everywhere and most of the time we leave them behind waiting for us to return. A pet is much closer than any best friend that we could ever have. Their only wish is to make us happy!

Hope that you can remember all the good times and like other have said, find another pet to love just as much!
