I'll let you know as soon as I can find an 18" piece of 3" copper. Right now Piggly Wiggly sells 25lbs for $10. I'm going to ASSuME that it'd be cheaper in bulk or from a farmers co-op.

Do you think we should drill for oil here in the US?

If yes, when / where? (Please sign petition)

If no, why?

who's going to drill here? the oil companies are making money hand over fist.
where is their motivation to spend money drilling here, so they can lower prices for you, and lower their own profits.
Its like telling someone that they can make $10 hr sitting on the couch, but they have permission to go out and work all day for $8 hr.

what would you do?

If the oil companies drill here, doesn't that mean they wouldn't have to buy from the Ahabs? Wouldn't it mean they would make even more money? Personally, unlike the Democrats, I don't care how much money the oil companies make. I just want gas at a reasonable price. Wouldn't it help if we can reduce our dependence on foreign oil?
I know Gothmog is going to say it's just an eyedropper of oil, but I don't think anyone really knows for sure how much domestic oil we have. If the oil companies are going to lose money why would they be so ready and willing to drill here? When they were called before the Democratic inquisition, they seemed more than ready to explore/drill domestically.
I'm all for finding alternative energy sources, but right now, give us the damn oil.

remember gothy is commie and didn't pass econ 101. He really thinks the oil companies would rather spend $130 a barrel rather than drill here and pull the oil out of the ground for less than $50 a barrel. That just goes to show how blind he really is.

I know that I would much rather pay $140 dollars a barrel for raw crude than say $70 because I can turn more of a profit by having more overhead.

By the way, without looking on the internet, tell me how gallons are in a barrel?

You know, no matter how many times I read it, the lack of understanding of basic economics never ceases to amaze me.

Think we should enter Gothmog on "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader" and see how he does!

From all of his crazy rants, I believe that Kellie Pickler could be smarter than him?

basic economics would dictate UPSTART companies in the oil industry jumpint in to undercut the big guys. Its a closed oligopoly...therefore they feel no threat from outside sources drilling for oil

again, If the oil companies are making record profits NOW, what is their motivation to get off their asses and DRILL?

someone please answer the simple question

They will drill when they need to, right now we need them to drill, they could give two shts
