Got this via Email and posting here for Gothmog.

He's always asking why aren't we chasing OBL.

Well, maybe this is the reason:

When the Duke of Wellington was asked what he would do at the Battle
of Waterloo he said "Whatever Napoleon does not want me to do".

The way to defeat al-Qaeda is not to give it the battle it wants and chase
terrorists throught the Pamir Mountains and the Hindu Kush but to go
for their heartland and do what they do not want the US to do. A democracy in Iraq will be the first step needed to bring the people in the Mid-East out of the 9th century. This war was necessary because of the growing danger to the civilized world posed by the terrorists and there's no way that sitting down and talking with the people of that region will accomplish anything.

Remember too that the threat from Germany and Japan was removed by completely changing the nature of their societies. Once they became dedicated democracies they were no longer hostile. Changing the Arab societies in a similar way can have a similar happy result.

Was this before or after the French blew his leg off with a cannonball?

Personally I see the writers POV a little off. WW2 was all about Empire and economy. OBL is a religious fanatic.

The taliban is not Alqueda,

Alqueda is in pakistan.

Obama has promised to go after Alqueda in Pakistan

the repubublicans MOCKED OBAMA for suggesting he go after OBL in Pakistan.
