IF China does start drilling off our shores, I'd hope the Dems and Environmentalists stand up to them and force them off the shoreline or will they allow that yet not allow the USA to do it??

We are going to see if politicians are ready to stand behind their words with maybe a few fists to back them up.

I'll bet China will eventually do it but closer to Cuba's shoreline and then the Dem's will say they are not near our shores and business goes on as usual.

They are doing it in Cuban waters,,,,Cuba is not that far away and I believe the demarcation is halfway between in such cases.

Most of the areas of interest are in the 50-150 mile offshore range on the edge of the shelf. In a case where another country is closer...then international law prevents us from claiming that far out.

Territorial waters used to be 3 miles out...these days, I believe it is 12 miles out....and then you are in international waters...but, somehow most nations claim out to 200 miles.

Obama will be begging the Castro brothers to sell us some oil. I would guess Cuba will join OPEC if they find much oil.

I think one should worry more when people are lining up to get out of a country rather than into it.

If they're sneaking in, we must be doing something right.

Its 90 miles to cuba from Key West. All the gambling boats go out 15 miles, and then you can have vegas style gambling. Although the Seminole Hard Rock here in town just opened up vegas style blackjack and other games. But that's another story. Gov. of Florida is already on board to open up drilling.

I think not drilling for oil here in the USA, is like not going to the doctor when you have chest pains! Democrats think that “they” will find a better way to solve the problem, but eventually the US economy will die while “they” keep us waiting!

Very interesting articles. That would be slick to have a gas pump at home.

Saudis get serious on oil prices - Jun. 19, 2008

I had a funny feeling the market wasn't going to tolerate $4/gal for too long. Even if the Saudis DO raise production, I still say we need to drill off-shore. Let 'em know we're serious too.

MicroFueler Makes $1/gal Homebrew Ethanol From Sugar : Gas 2.0

What really sucks is I've been trying to find out more about this "inedible sugar from Mexico" for about two months now. Every damn Googalie search I do keeps pointing me back to that damn stillpump.
