Assault Charges Filed Against GSCA Felon Jim Carswell

While prepping Teds car for another round of action at Norwalk a DRUNK GSCA Race Director Jim Carswell enters our pit looking for some trouble. Trying to defuse this drunk nut job by telling him we were busy racing, please leave us alone. There was no reasoning with the pride and joy of the GSCA he wanted to fight! As words were exchanged Carswell sucker punched my brother... Big Surprise! Carswell was quickly taken to the ground and subdued, we thought the brawl was over until Carswell continued rolling around causing major damage to Teds car dented quarter panel, door and fender.

Big thanks to Chris Lyons for stepping in to break things up. The local Sheriffs were called.

Carswell left with his buddys "The Hartline Crew" rushed out of the track before the Sheriffs arrived.

Police reports were made, assault charges will be filed. The Sheriff notified us that Carswell has outstanding felony assault charges, he was not surprised that he fled the scene. The Ohio State Troopers were notified as to what Carswell was driving and his licence plate.

Today is a sad day for the Buick Community! GSCA directors make public physical threats to members, drive across the country attempting to follow through with them.

Way to go GSCA... Really Going Fast With Class!!!

it sucks that this happened but i have to ask.how did he get ''sucker punched''?if someone is looking for a fight and you are talking to him there is a damn good chance he is gonna swing at some point. if you want to talk to someone who wants to fight you had better be ready.i guess i'm just a redneck but thats how i think.

First thing is if words were being exchanged in a not so friendly manner when the punch was thrown it was not a sucker punch. I am in NO WAY defending or supporting the action of Jim Carswell I'm JUST SAYIN' it wasn't a sucker punch. Now if the punchee was in no way involved with the exchange of unfriendly-type words then yes it would be considered a sucker punch.....especially if he didn't see Jim approaching.

On a serious note it is very sad that disagreements came to violence in the pits of an event. I hope no one was seriously hurt.

And why has Cal Hartline been dragged into this?

Jim Carswell is a PUSSY !
He was spared an ass stomping and ran away like a F**king girl.

After the sucker punch, Bamfords brother had him down eating blacktop and let him go. What a POS that white trash low life redneck to come to someone elses Buick event with the intent to start trouble.

The GSCA should be real proud they have scumbags like that as their official race director. A sad day for the Buick community to say the least.

It could be, if the guy isnt looking. Anyway, the first guy to throw a punch is always in the Wrong.

It's not my version I wasn't there. I was just passing along how it was told to me. I have already heard about 5 different versions.

We've already heard one original account. (Bamfords)
Maybe we should hear Jim Caswells version of what happened. There are always two sides to every story.

Well Jim !?
