| I'd act like it was something new. You said he was much better today. Tomorrow if he stinks, walk by like its nothing and jump back and say "whoa, did you run 5 miles to work this morning, cuz you stink" almost like you would raz a buddy. I'm sure you got razzed and razzed some of your mustang buddies cuz they always miss 3rd gear, that's got to hurt too! |

| Used to work with a guy exactly the same way. We all took turns telling him about his 'problem'. he would say 'ok', I'll take care of it, and then continue do nothing. We even used to tie bars of soap to his locker handle and his car door handles! Finally, we took it up with the HR dept. and they wouldn't do anything about it either, so someone called the local health dept and filed a complaint. They came out to the plant, went to HR and had him called in and talked to him. The plant manager was really pissed! They basically told him and the company that it was unheathy for him to be around other workers and that if he didn't clean up his act, he and the company would be fined. Only then did he finally clean himself up! Every once in a while he would slip and revert back- then we would go to HR and they would call him in and take care of it. I feel for you, brother! ![]()

| Save me from myself! | I have to tell kids this all the time. Understandable considering I deal with pubescent teens. I think it's just best to tell them directly in private. In college we had a group of Indians (India Indians) on our hall. They reeked. On one drunken night my roomate saw them and smelled their funk. He had enough and decided to start telling them to shower and in his drunken rage he gulped in some of the funk. That mixed with a .20 BA% induced a vomit session not unlike the one at the pie eating contest in Stand By Me. It pissed our RA off tremendously and my roomate had to take "sensitivity classes" to remain in school.

| Simple. Just say, "Dude I can't take this no more, U REEK, do something about it before I knock your a s s out". Ya gotta look at it like this, you have to be respectfull to others that share space with you. He obviously has thrown that rule out of the window, so you just need to step up. Remember, you spend more time at work then at home. If this is the environment you wish to keep at work then continue to let it slide. Life is what you make it. Take the s h i t personally and step up. There is no excuse for grown people to smell like foot n a s s.

| Back in Hiding | I had a guy who worked for me and I could swear he never showered... he was a freaking lush of a drunk, too (which never helps). I simply told him that either he showers or I'll strap him to an aircraft the next time we wash it. Aircraft soap and pressure washers are never fun if you are on the receiving end... |
