Well I'm alive! Went well. Recovery was a bitch in the hospital. I think the anesthesiologists went over board on me. Thew up a few times when I got home. That felt good passing that thru a recent Tonsillectomy! Today is not as bad. yogurt and a banana this morning. No real pain other then when I swallow. I had full endoscopic sinus surgery, partial turbonectomy and sinus passage widening a few years back from the same doctor. There was some scar tissue left behind from that operation so he cleaned all that up as well. One thing is for sure I can breath awesome now! All my meds are in liquid. So far I only took one shot of the pain medication last night. Haven't needed it yet!

the calm before the storm...glad you are breathing better...is an awesome feeling...I found that the pain came in waves...the first 2 days were fine...it is later on....almost like the tide is coming in...by day 7 it was full tide and then it went out quickly......drink plenty of water.... glad you made it thru....

yea so far this is nothing as far as pain goes. Nothing hurts unless I swallow. I'm a little weak from the procedure but it's not that bad at all. All my meds are in liquid form. They have me on Hydrocodone for pain. 2 huge bottles. Amoxicillin and methylprednisolone. I only took the pain meds when I got home. I hate to get hooked on that crap and feel all out of it and dizzy. One thing is for sure I'm friggin starving over here! I can only eat so much jello, Popsicles, pudding, and drink so much water! I need me a big steak or a hamburger! Someone around here had BBQ for lunch and the smell was killin me! I have a few huge tubs of Rita's water ice so that is nice as well. The fridge in the house took a crap (go figure of all the times to die) so the little lady ran out and lugged in a mini bar fridge and set it up next to the bed. That was a nice surprise! I was worried all my pudding and water ice was gonna melt! lol I called a guy to fix the fridge in the kitchen today just in time! But yea this is nothing. Hopefully it stays this way but I'll be ready with this pain meds if I have to! This post helped a lot that's for sure!

Thanks Steve, Bill, and Dustin!

Sean: didn't go back to work. I took 2 weeks off after reading this thread! I was just saying my back feels like I've been picking heavy stuff up all day. Not to bad today. Woke up and my mouth was dry as the desert. Been chewing on chopped up ice and eating ice cold apple sauce all morning. Finally feeling better. Thank god the fridge makes chopped up ice!

Dustin: I was sleeping with my mouth open all the time and sleeping like crap that's why I went in for the turbonectomy and all the other sinus work. That helped a lot and with the tonsils out now it should really make a difference! You would think with the size of my nose I should breath perfect! lol I had some scar tissue left over from the turbonectomy and he cleaned that up while taking the tonsils out so my nose is clogged up a lot as well. That don't help with the tonsils that's for sure! Been shooting salt water up my nose to try and keep it open but then it starts bleeding. I guess I'll be a mess for a little while yet!

So far so good. Pain is going away this morning. My lower back was on fire when I would cough yesterday. Oh yea coughing is no fun that's for sure! Drinking tons of ice water helps a lot. Had 4 Rita's water ice's yesterday too. I think this is the perfect procedure to have done in the summer that's for sure. I had some scrambled eggs this morning and a banana wasn't bad at all. I've only used the pain meds 2 times so far. Still trying to keep away from them. I sleep like a rock that's for sure!
