Urine Test

Like a lot of folks in this country... I have a job. I work, they pay me.I pay my taxes, and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit.
In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test, with which I have no problem.

What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check, because I have to pass one to earn it for them?

Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their butt and using drugs. Could you imagine how much money the state
would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?

My problem is that I don't know what urine is. Needless to say I would fail a urine test.

Disregarding the incoherant poster above;
Here's another slant on urine testing in the workplace:

(Lifted from another site)

"Yet more union B.S.

Imagine how much money could be saved if nobody except legitimately
suspected drug users had to participate in drug screening.

Nobody should need to pass a urine test for a job that doesn't involve the
safety of the public.

The Constitution guarantees "presumption of innocence." Pre-employment drug testing is a presumption of guilt, forcing one to prove his innocence by
taking that drug screening.

OTOH, if the crapola unions would stop fighting to retain jobs for drug
users, allow random drug tests for reasonable cause for suspected drug
users, companies would be able to fire people on the spot for drug use, and
the alleged drug problem in the workplace would be solved.

One strike and you're out works fine for me when it comes to drug use in
the workplace."

Read 'em and weep.
More on these BS drug tests;

"The pee test is very popular to test for illegal/legal drugs, alcohol
and nicotine.

Companies are also cherry picking employees for insurance purposes
testing for diabetes and high cholestrol among other things.

Other companies are doing a complete genetic runup on your samples to
insure that no one who needs major medical work in the future sneaks
in.

There is other testing looking for lead...for those who own guns.

Welcome to the wonderful pro business climate we have."

some of the drug testing issues actually have to do with insurance companies...if a company hires someone with a drug problem some insurance companies have to provide help/rehab if that person wants to make a claim///again it is all about $$$$

I know a friend of a friend & this woman worked for Bell Canada (big outfit) & she became addicted to Heroin. She claimed she couldnt work (they also didnt want a junkie at work) so she gets 90% pay until she cleans up her act. That was 20 YEARS ago!!!!!!! She sits at home, goes to a couple meetings a week & gets 90% of her pay!! Just has to Pee Dirty when tested & the checks keep coming under their Union rules! They consider her to be sick just like Cancer etc. Now thats a reason for testing IMO!

Dont forget credit score, sex offender and criminal history and the usuall background history checks.

Every year I waste half a work day sitting in my annual insurance/investment reevaulation listening to the same old BS. I'm as clean as Will Smith so last month I see the ins.co has raised the deductable if you do the usuall vices. And they are going to pay to help you kick those vices. Long story short. I got my deductable lowered because I dont smoke or have diabetes but it still sounded like the smokers or future quiters came out cleaner on the money end. Oh well. They'll just get screwed next year if they stay clean.

Now theres a conundrum. You smoke and part of your 401K is stock in RJ Reynolds. So to save money you quit smoking. The price of RJR drops along with your investment. So you take up eating Oreos to boost your retirement. You get diabetes and gain 100 pounds so your insurance goes back up. You eventually get fired because of all of the drugs in your system. You cant get a job because your credit score is under 550 from maxing out the CC for Chantex and food and insulin. It's a vicious cycle out there.

They tried using hair samples here a while back instead of pee. You had to drive across town to a clinic if you didn't have any. Hair that is!

BTW I dont do anything that a junkie couldn't do, as far as a job goes. Why the heck do I need to pee in the cup? Just like when I get a traffic ticket, I'm keeping up the status quo for white middle class males. I never get a break.

Could be like they did us in the Navy; Every now and then about a week or so after our last shore leave, one of the ships corpsmen would be standing beside the urinals looking to see who was grimacing in pain when they pee'd. That was called a short arm inspection.

When they start having breathalizer tests for all the "drunks" at work then I will agree with the "drug tests" until then the "bosses" can go fk themselves.
