BPG Potential Member Questions

I have a few question before I send in my check. If I need to go ahead and join first to have these answered please let me know so that I may write out a check and send it in today. The questions I have are as follows -

Being that the BPG is a non profit club and that the BPG Nats is a for profit event I was curious as to whether or not it is ethical to use proceeds from a non profit organization to pay for a for profit event.

I am also wondering if I send my money in and join if I will be brought up to date on issues concerning what the actual profit was from the BPG Nats.

It sounds like it should have been substantial considering the amount of racers, sponsors, show cars and spectators that were present. As such who keeps up with the finances and are there quarterly reports issued to the club members?

Are these hand written statements or actual spreadsheets that would hold up to an audit? I realize that the GSCA has a different format and as such if I am going to join the BPG I would like to be abreast of the format they use.

What was the car count for the races and for the shows?

What was the spectator count and how much was it to get in to watch?

How many vendors attended? If the BPG Nats needs more sponsorship how can I contribute to help recruit more vendors to this event?

If the board is only elected for one year’s tenure why have the same folks been there for the past several years? Why have there been no elections to bring in some fresh ideas? Are new members allowed to join the board?

Being that the BPG Nats were as successful as they were this year there should have been a decent amount of money made. How is this money returned to the club and in what fashion? The money borrowed from the non profit club is returned I would hope and if it is a not for profit club sponsored event the proceeds are returned to the club and deposited in the clubs checking/savings account right?

Being that the BPG Nats is for profit how are the taxes filed for said event in relation to the not for profit club? As I understand it the membership owns it and if this is indeed the case I would like to know as I too would be held liable for any tax errors that may arise should I join.

As previously pointed out many times over the GSCA lets the track and RRA’s determine the safety regulations for each class. I was curious as to whether or not the BPG does the same thing. If so how are the rules enforced? I was recently made aware that there are cars running in some fairly quick classes that do not adhere to NHRA standards for their time/speed achieved. How is this allowed to happen when it is my understanding that the BPG adheres to strict safety guidelines?

Thank you in advance for answers to these questions and again if I need to send in a check and membership form please let me know so that I may do so today.

I think you got the wrong board if you are "sincere" with your questions?

Maybe the BPG board would be better suited to answer your questions?

Actually I have it on good authority that in an effort to make the two major clubs similar in regards to policies and procedures: The financial disclosure policy is this:

"We will do whatever we want, whenever we want, and there's not a single thing you can do about it. If you don't like it, we don't care. We don't have to care, we're the BPG!"

Jim I was going to make a real long thread but trashed it. Bottom line to the point. Get all your answers from the BPG board after your password is mailed to you.

I have never got involved in these threads because I dont know enuf about all of it & still dont. I do know that this guy (thread starter) is coming across like a real Dork & people know whats really up. I still dont see why he would post that stuff here & not on the BPG site, except he wants attention?
Sorry but your not winning the crowd over if they are anything like me & can read between the lines, You really come across like a Dork. Again, thats JMO but I bet that others are also thinking the same thing. You should reconsider your plan of "ATTACK" against the "BPG" as thats all it is & people arent stupid!

Just go to the BPG site & bash them & have "All your Friends" back you up!! Much better plan IMO.

UPDATE:

LongDukDick posted this same B.S. over on V8 and guess what.

They "BITCH SLAPPED" him and deleted his F'en thread. I guess another horses ass award is in order!

Looks like J.C. & J.R.s $hit stirring stick was just ripped from there grimey little paws.
Maybe this is the only place they'll be welcome to post anymore.

Well Abbott & Costello, we're waiting!

BPG,
Thanks for allowing me to race at your event for the past 3 years and win DECENT prize money without even having to be a member of your club or pay any dues for a half-witted newsletter.

You mean you got a payout? No one else did. What did TSO pay in BG this year? Like 7 or 8 grand? What did you get at the nat trail?

Half witted newsletter? The BPG Buildsheet?

I broke this year, you dont get anything when you lose, that is how competition drag racing works in the event you were not aware of that. Last year I won TSM and got about $1100 in cash.
TSO was won in BG by a very competitve car this year (of course it was, we built it in it's entirety right here in Dundalk, MD). It DID NOT pay 7 or 8 grand, it was $500 cash donated by sponsors and the REMAINDER of the purse was paid out in gift certificates (was that announced in the beginning) that were virtually unable to be used by the winner and he still has not gotten the balance of those as of 5:10 this afternoon (speaking to him right now) Oh well a win is still a win and Anderson Performance came through with yet ANOTHER victory in Bowling Green.
