Market Value 87 Monte Luxury Sport?

What kind of market value does an 87 Monte V8 Luxury Sport hard top have? The car is a NICE rust free 2 owner, with just a touch over 100k. It needs paint & the dash is cracked other than that it’s pretty cherry. Body is very straight & car is very original that drives out nice.

No vinyl top, has a 60/40 style bench seat, column shift with the factory aluminum wheels however the factory center caps are missing. I thought it’d look nice with an 8” set of corvette rallys. Also I’m thinking about buying the car for resale & doing the paint work myself, if it’s worth the investment. Seems like nice rust free g bodies are gaining popularity, just wondering what the real world value is?

aluminum wheels like the checkerboard wheels? eather way a LS isnt worth it for a resale. they do look great with rallys however. i'd say 1500-2000 tops.

Check out this month's issue of "OLD CAR PRICE GUIDE" at your favorite newstand. I know BOOKS-A-MILLION carries it.

It stays current from all reported auctions & sales, & has a 1-6-point condition scale on its prices.

I give all of mine to pals, but if there's an issue here, I'll look it up for you.

Sounds like a very nice car!

Yes, the checkerboard wheels.
As it sits I can pick it up for $800. Was hoping they'd have a little better resale value. I have not stayed up on the market of other G bodies so I thought I'd ask. I guess if I was wanting one to keep it be a good price, but factor in replacing the dash & base clear paint for a resale & it's not worth my time.

with the checker rims they MIGHT be worth something being they're very hard to come by. if it was a FI car i'd say jump on it and you can sell it as a ready rolling car for a EFI swap. (LT1, LS1 etc.)

Sounds like a very nice car!

O.K., just in from trip out for groceries, & checked the PO box for the first time since last Thursday. A fresh issue of the Old Car Price Guide was among the mail!

So, looking your car up, just as you described it, gives it a #4 (on a 6pt. scale) as-is.

A #4 car is given a current market value of $1,660.00.
