Rich Rezes wins EFI Slick Class again at Etown

Congrats Rich!

Following up on the fun we had at Cecil last week and new best of myself I decided to go to Etown for the EFI shootout today to see if I could better my times. I called Rich to see if he wanted to go with his wifes car and of course he says sure I'll go just let me put a new set of plugs in the car.

I ran a best of 12.03 @ 117 today with a 2.08 60ft didn’t better my 11.82 from Cecil. I tried out my race chip and I think I got a little over zealous with the boost so I switched back to my street chip.

Then eliminations start and I win 1st round but lose in 2nd and decided to watch Rich and the slick car class. Rich won the 1st two rounds, then in the 3rd round was dialed in at 11.60 and ran Vette dialed in at 11.03, Rich cuts the tree like a young George Washington with an ax and right at the stripe slams the brakes and goes 11.601 on a 11.60 dial. In the finals Rich ran a 9.65 Firebird and the gentleman red-lited and Rich ran it out to an all time best in his wifes car of 11.47@114.95 on ET streets and through the mufflers. I think he said his 60 ft's were in the low 1.6's.

His wifes car is simply amazing, totally stock appearing and so consistant. When I rebuilt my car over the summer Rich was generous enough to share his receipe with me. Hopefully when I get my car ironed out it'll at least be as consistant as his wife's car.

Lets hope the weather holds up for Atco next month.

Thanks Tommy...............we did have fun today at Etown..........weather just as nice as last week in Cecil.

I really love my wife's car, the combo just works and has from day one when I built it about 9 years ago and the car doesn't owe me a dime.

It runs 26 psi with 116 octane on ET streets and ran a best of 11.47 today with the worse time being 11.55.

Big thanks to Dan Smith for the motor from years ago with a non turbo crank and Jim Testa for his race chip for the 009s.

I will probably be bringing this car to Atco next month and try to compete in the brackets there.

Thanks boys.........like I said that car 9 years later still amazes me. I built it for my wife to run and her best is 12.88 in it. I built it to go 12.0 when the rollbar rule was 12.0.

Now that the rollbar rule is 11.50 this thing is dead on, drove from the street to tech right into staging lanes lowered tire pressure to 11psi and had a fun day, only tool I had in the car was a tire pressure gauge because on Saturdays at Etown you can not run open exhaust. They will not even let you open up a test pipe so times run were thru the exhaust.

Thru out the years this car has been the most reliable car in my four car stable
