1987 Black with chrome

As stated in other posts the 1987 TR in black became unavailable with the WO2 trim in November 1986 in preparation to sell the WE4. The question was raised did this mean the 1987 TR with Chrome trim was also not available. I say that one could get a black w/chrome trim throughout 1987, but I need some people with this combo to substantiate the claim with some build dates(Located inside the drivers door jam).

This is the shout out.
Post up your build date of your or your freind's(Or enemy's or any you have seen and can substantiate) 1987 Black w/chrome trim TR.

Thanks

Next pointless question

This brings to mind my next question.

Did this ban on Black WO2 cars only include those equipped with the LC2?
Or could one get the WO2/Y56 car without the LC2 through out the year?

Kind of a pointless question I guess but if this info is substantiated other info could be found with it. Ya never know what someone could stumble across.

I have a black/chrome car, the door sticker is missing, but I'll double check the VIN, pretty sure it was a later production though.

The way I interpet the bulletin is that this applied to all of the Regals. Even the 307. Although I cant recall seeing a chrome bumpered 307 with the 15" aluminum wheels. It maybe a case that the Y56 forced the W02 onto the build sheet when the LV2(307) motor was ordered.

Had a friend way back in the day that had a '87 black v-8 T with chrome bumpers and T rims. His father worked for a Chevy only dealership so I thought it was funny that he ended up driving a Buick.

Thanks for posing the link

Picture 12 clearly shows a 12/86 build if this is the original sticker to the car.
It has under 40k in the pix(Though I guess this could be 140k) and looking at the condition I would tend to believe the 40k claim.

I love the coach lamps on the sail panels. It sports the WO5 which was the Limited correct? Doesn't a Limited door panel have some type of lighting on the lower rear part? I guess this could have been changed to install the concert II speakers.

Great link and very nice car.

Mine has Black & Chrome similar to the last pic but was supposed to be a V-8 car before it was snatched off the line & converted by the VP at GM Canada!
The sticker on the heater area shows a Carb! Altho, thats only a small part of what they did to it. The serial number shows a Vin 7 Turbo car!
Thats how its registered.

Ahh, the mystery trim code.

Maybe Eric or someone will come up with an explanation for it. Judging by the response the theory I have is that the WF6 equates to the chrome trim on a nonLimited Regal. With that in mind, anyone have a WF6 and a WO5 on the same trunk tag?

How 'bout some pix of your ride.
Thanks for the post.

Well to bust my own theory I found this car

http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=194085

for sale and if you scroll down to the trunk tag picture it doesn't have any W codes so the WF6 must be something in particular. It does however sport the T87 code and this is not a Limited car. Does the WF6 only appear on a Black car? Just a thought.

Thumbs up my belt mouldings are different

the car you showed in the pics has what appears to me to be thin,GN type belt mouldings,my car has belt mouldings/window sweps that are 2 inches wide and run the entire length of the top of the door, that car also has limited type front markers, mine does not,i can send you some pictures but they are too lorge for this site, the reason i wanted someone to identify the mouldings is because i want to replace the sweeps,,no one has been able to correctly ID them for a regal

The 40k claim is legit. I've seen this car in person & believe me it's the correct milage.
As far as the Limiteds having the lights on the doors, it was an option. His car doesn't have them & my car does & I have the concert sound II speakers in my doors

This might be tha answer to the WF6 mystery. Can anyone else verify that they have the WF6 code and the wide belt moulding.

Freight Train could you post some pix of the moulding to clarify what you are describing. Or send them and I'll try to resize them to fit. Thanks.
