Yeah, if you live in the southwest you know this $hit is out of hand. My dad has been down at the border with the minutemen for the last month and he said it's nuts down there right now. I just told him to be careful and even though your not supposed to have rifles, I loaned him my ak-47 and my hundred round drum with 60 rounds in it. He usually carries a s&w 9mm but the 7.62's have much better stopping power.

It infuriates me that the Left is mischaracterizing this argument.

I think the large majority of americans are for legal immigration, and the large majoriity of americans appreciate the contribution of legal immigrants. And the large majority of americans want the border protected.

but somehow the argument was twisted into "if you want to crackdown on illegal immigration or if you want to protect the borders, then you resent all legal immigrants"

See, I RESPECT all LEGAL immigrants. Not only for having the bravery of picking up and moving to another country, but for doing so PROPERLY!! Having lived in another country for several years, going thru their process for immigration then putting my own fiancee thru the process to LEGALLY come into this country I respect anyone who is willing to endure the mountains of paperwork. To learn another language, learn another culture, and leave everything you know and are comfortable is not a simple task.

So, for that reason, I have all the more resentment towards those who sneak across our border and invade our sovereign land. It is so true, that doing all the legal paperwork is a pain in the ass. But THAT'S THE WAY IT WORKS!!!

Nothing to do with left or right on this one. More to do with right or wrong. Legal = right... ILLEGAL = WRONG = SEND THEIR ASS BACK!!!

There are so many waiting to come Legally, they go through all the proper channels to do it correctly, why should someone that does it the wrong way be given any privileges?

Look at the way both Canada and the US handles Immigration! I will admit I'm part Mexican but was born here in Canada. When I was a child my mother applied to have her newphew in as a landed immigrant. He had family here, and had a job that paid north of $50k a year. The Canadian government would not allow him to come here. But if your from a war torn zone your automatically entered as "refugee status".

There is two sides to every story. I watch crimes rates going up every year because of the "refugee status" immigrants that they allow in our country. Ever notice the increase in violence that is occurring in TO? The government is so stupid, they allow terrorist in and turn away hard working non-threatening immigrants. Let's give a cheer to our Immigrant Policy!
