Mickey Thompson now making a 255/60/**15** Drag Radial!

As the topic said I was just on there website and saw that they are making the 255/60 DR for 15" wheels (before they were only making the 255/50 for the 16" wheels)..... I plan on running this tire on my car!

http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/s...et_radial.html

Just thought I'd pass the word along cause I know some were wanting to see M/T make this tire for 15" wheels

its about time somebody does, that is the best looking tire size on a stock rim imo. I always loved the way my 255 BFG radial TAs looked, but they wouldn't hook worth a damn.

I agree, I plan on running these on my stock rims and that is why I'm happy cause I really wasn't sure how well a 275/60 would fit on my car without work... I'm sure some won't care cause they are already running the 275/60 or the 275/50, but I believe this should definitely fill a void!

just saying I have not seen that size before in a DR is the same height as a 28" slick...not saying that you can't read a chart

Sorry if my response came off as sarcastic.. There are plenty of guys running the M/T 275/60/15 and they work really well.. My brother has them on his Buick powered Foxbody Mustang and so far he has been 10.60 @126mph on them with a best 60' of a 1.51.... Eventually he plans on turning up the wick and putting it in the 9's on this tire.... With the M/T DRs there really is no need for a slick even if you have an all out race car... The one guy out on the West Coast named Steve Short that runs in the PSCA Wild Street class (where they are limited to a 275/60 DR per the rules) has run 7.73 @188mph on the M/T 275/60/15 DR so they definitely work well!!!

No problem... I gurantee you the M/Ts will hook better than the BFGs and wear on the street is about the same from what I've seen... You won't be disappointed if you make the switch

Let me know when they make a 28 inch tall tire for the 16 inch wheel, for those of us with the late 80's TA wheels. Then I will get excited...

Hey give them a call and let them know you would like to see a 28" tall tire for 16" wheels... The only reason they decided to make the 255/60/15 is because they got a LOT of requests for this size.... This past year at the World Street Nationals in Orlando I spoke to a rep from M/T and asked him if they would ever consider making this size and his response to me was that they had a lot of requests so there was a good possibility of it happening in the future! For once somebody made a statement like that and it actually materialized!

M & H Racemaster now has a 28" tall Radial for the 16", and it looks narrow enough to fit on my GN. Not sure about the performance as I posted this question earlier with no response.

I guess I will be the $400.00 test on this product and report back on the results. I like the MT radials and have them on my car now but they only make the 26" tall tire for 16's..
