Emailed Buick About The GN

Hey Guys,
It has been a while since I last posted a thread, but I just had to share this email I received from Buick. I had asked them about the rumors of the GNX being brought back, and this is the response that I got back.

Dear Mr. Palafox,

Thank you for contacting Buick regarding the Buick Grand National! We
acknowledge and appreciate your continued loyalty to Buick. There are no plans
to bring back the Grand National. We apologize for any inconvenience.

If you need additional information or have further questions, please let us know
via email or by calling Buick at 1-800-422-8425, between 8:00 AM-11:00 PM
Eastern Time, seven days a week. Again, thank you for contacting Buick!

Sincerely,

Andrea Shuck

So what do you guys think? Are they bluffing about it not coming back or they telling the truth?

If Buick does not go through with it, it would be a shame. My wife and I have been talking about it and decided that if the GN came back, we would get one to match my 87, in the garage. One can only Dream

GOOOOOOD! I don't want them disgracing a car that I consider to be a legend with any plasticy POS, which it would undoubtedly be. I want them to leave the name alone. By all means, bring some power into the Buicks again, but let it be a fukcing Velite, or something.

Amen!! Though, Holden(GM Australia) has some killer HSV cars that could probably proudly carry the GN or Turbo T badge

With the crappy sales of the GTO and how the purists responded to it..... there ain't a snowballs chance of ever seeing a GN come out of Buick....

Probably good thing too because the concepts look like crap.

The only way to do it would be an update of the 86\87 car, a retro car if you will...the way Ford did the Mustang. Do it that way, or like Decapitation said, bring some power to Buick without re-inventing the GN.

Agreed... A retro car could look really good along the lines of what they did with the mustang. Unfortunatly with the current buick stable containing 4 suv's and only 2 cars .... I don't see that direction happening.

Angry They would only mess it up.

The same way that GM (Pontiac) did to the GTO or DaimlerChrysler did to the Charger. They would use the name just to sell a car, not caring that it would discraced the name of a true American Muscle car.

They do not care about the true car purist out there, only the bottom line and it would end up a POS.

Buick has better production numbers then Caddy or Saturn. Buick may not build performance cars but will still be around.

Here we go with the GTO thing again, I personally think it is an awesome car. Just read the new Motor Trend, and the GTO out did the SRT-8 in the quartar and 0-60. I think it is a great looking car! Just my 2 though.
