Delphi files for bankruptcy

http://money.cnn.com/2005/10/10/news...ex.htm?cnn=yes

The biggest auto parts maker? What do they make? Nothing for GM cars older than 10 years!

GM Isn't far behind IMO.

"the chances that GM will have to file for bankruptcy are now up to about 30 percent, according to one industry analyst, following the Delphi bankruptcy filing."

Maybe if that happens they will fire all the execs and project leaders. I wonder what focus groups these people use when they build a new car?

Delphi has $27.00 an hour wages for their union employees. I read they want them to take a pay cut to 12.00 bucks an hour or they are going to move (I'll let you guess where to).

Car sales for GM is not the problem...it's retiree benefits and pensions and salaries. Hello China......

You can thank the unions for running the automakers into the dirt.

Any union shop I've ever seen had nothing but lazy, overpaid, underworked, talentless minorities and elderly people in them. I was always the outcast in those shops because I actually showed up to work, and unlike most, I knew what I was doing and actually earned what I was being paid. I also don't agree with the way my union dues were contributed towards election campaigns, supporting someone I'd vote against.

Unions have long outlived thier usefullness, and I fully support any business decision to move to another area to dump the union. (Provided they stay in the US)

The union has run several companies in my area into the dirt and put thousands of people out of work. Dana corp is the first that comes to mind.
