Everybody calling bush stupid yet all tests show he's smarter than gore. So, would it have been smarter for the american public to vote for the one that was dumber? It cracks me up that the bush haters want to put all the blame on bush. He has 50 other states to look after too. All the immediate relief and the evacuation should have been taken care of by the local govt. They've known since the founding of NO that it was a disaster waiting to happen since it got taken out 4 times in the first 4 years of existance. The local govt should have had much better evacuation plans and a much better system to deal with the fallout. You don't go running to mom and dad when you break your arm if you're 40 years old. You take care of the situation yourself. Once the immediate emergency is over then call mom and dad (fed govt) to help you out. There were many people of power in NO that should have stepped up to the plate and didn't. They're grown men, but act like little kids cuz they had to wait for daddy (bush) to tell them what to do.
