Unhappy Steve Dove Killed.

I just read on V8Buick.com that Steve Dove was killed in a head-on collision on May 5. For those who don't know him he written many musclecar books including the Turbo Buick Facts and Figures book. I met him and his wife many times over the years. They were great people. His wife is still in the hospital.

Yes, Steve was a nice guy. I met him a few times in Houston a few years back. That is really bad news.

He helped me out a lot with my 65 GS I restored, back in the late 80's, with suggestions, parts, etc...Way before the internet - when you had to read Hemmings and actually talk to people. He sent me pics of his cars... I think he owned several 65's..
Thanks for passing that along Ed. I am very sorry to hear that and will also keep his wife in my prayers.

That is sad to hear. If anyone that knew him personally is planning on going to his funeral maybe we can paypal them some money to bring an arrangement from the board members. The Facts and Figures book was and is a resource that worth its weight in gold and it would be fitting for those that have benefitted from it to show appreciation for him.

Cool Norwalk 2003

I met the couple for the first time last year in Norwalk. They were a vendor in the car show selling the Buick books. Nice people. Sorry to hear the sad news. If we do send an arrangement someone attending may have to put up the money. I would definitely be interested in contributing.

KRYKIES!

That is horrible.

He was just selling a bunch of his first run and prototype books on ebay last month.

Sad.

I never met Steve in person but I did talk with him on the phone many time in the late 80's before he published the first turbo F&F. I am the guy that gave him Greg Klings(82 GN from Nebraska) number. Great guy that all of us in the Buick community owe a lot to. Does anyone have or know of a website that lists all of his books? I'm a little challenged searching on my POS DT from work or I would look myself. I know I have everyone of his books but in case I dont or if any of us that would like to buy them it would be of great help. Thanks.

Sorry to hear. Let us know about Pay Pal.

Going to go to a funeral in our family; cousin died last night. Only 43 years old...brain cancer. He was one of the nicest people I knew. Damn!
