Talking Track Rental for Buicks at Moroso

Just wanted to pass on this info from Mark Pona....

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 27TH @ 10:00 AM is the deadline to confirm yourself as a racer. Shortly later (let's say.....10:03am) I will contact Moroso and set up the arrangements for reservations and payment. NO ONE WILL BE ADDED AFTER THE 27TH!

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 5TH is the deadline for me to receive payment for the track rental. I will send a final price as soon as I receive and count all the confirmations on 11/27/00.

The following are those who are confirmed "racers":
1) Mark P.
2) Michele J.
3) Alex V.
4) Jeff S.
5) Mark W.
6) David W.
7) Bill L.
8) Cal H.
9) John W. & Brother (counts as one car)
IF NO ONE ELSE CONFIRMS, THE PRICE WILL BE: $135.44 each car

The following are NOT confirmed, please reply A.S.A.P.:
10) Cal's 2 friends (Malibu & "W. Coast"?)
11) Mike Pitt's friends (Syclone & Lightning?)
12) Mark Workman's friends (69 Cam, Cuda, Stang, friend of Cuda)

PAYMENT: As soon as the checks are collected I will hold Jan 25th as ours! I will hand-deliver all the checks to MOROSO on Wednesday, December 6th and finalize everything else. All checks payable to: Moroso Motorsports Park.

ENTRY: I will ask them how the entry will work since this is "invitation only". I assume we're all going to be on a guest list with the type of car we have. I'm sure they will record the VIN# or license plate of the paid vehicles. People are free, we only pay for the "racing" car.

TRACK & SUPPORT: The prices include tax, Fire-Rescue and personnel. The gas pumps will be open (bring ca$h) and there's an air hose near the pumps. The restrooms are pretty clean and fairly new. Since we'll "own" the entire track, I'm sure we can set up our own little pit and show areas. I'm sure Jeff will have plenty of generators to light up his chromed GN and TTA! We'll just plug into his equipment and throw him a few bucks for the electricity. <hehe>

FOOD: I suggest we fend for ourselves and pack our own snacks / sandwiches since the track food is costly and, well... track food. They have barbecues (I'm pretty sure) if anyone is interested. I'll ask about bringing in coolers, bottles and alcohol. I'm sure they'll have a State Police Officer there as well, they usually have FHP or DOT. The guys who sign up for the Moroso detail are usually pretty cool dudes who are fellow car enthusiasts themselves. Maybe we can get them to race one of us! But don't tell their boss.

If anyone has any questions or concerns, this is the time to bring it up!!!

Regarding the following: I'm no Jim Haas, but I had to have some fun with this!

Question

By any chance, would I be "Mike Pitts' friend with the Syclone"? I'd definitely be interested in attending if you guys don't mind a Syclone joining in...but, I'd need to be assured that the track tech officials will allow me to run. Will regular NHRA tech apply at this private event? I'd expect easy low 11's, maybe high 10's...but my truck is far from NHRA legal...most notably, NO ROLLBAR!

Let me know,
Rob

Rob,
They said that they would "overlook" the rollbar issue (I am ASSuming they will allow a rollbar in place of a rollcage, too). They will also allow you to run "No Time".

BTW: You will still need a helmet.

Orlando, beats driving to BG or Bristol. Mark I spoke to a couple of fellow TR owners to spread the word and with a little more time I am sure we can get some more support from the area. Count me in (to race) and I think you'll here from Tino before the day is over. A few other possibilities are in the works.

Suggest posting on the other board (under the "Lounge" and "Events")and I am sure you'll get more people to commit.

I hope we can get a good turn out of fellow GN/T owners.;
