Thumbs down ATTN: Turbo Buick owners....

I followed a link posted by Mikel to a new message board at modernmusclecar. Upon arrival, I saw sections devoted to Corvette, Camaro/Firebird, Mustang, Lightning, Viper and a couple of others.....guess what is missing? Thats right! No Turbo Buick section!

Now, get over there and speak up! There is a thread already started under the section "Other cars" called "I am the other car(Buick Grand National)". There are already a few TB guys there now.....we need to overtake that place so they will create a Turbo Buick section and give other car/truck owners something to drool over http://www.modernmusclecar.net/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgi

There are already 2 UBBs dedicated to turbo Buicks. I think the purpose of the ModernMuscle UBB is to offer a site that covers a variety of cars and trucks...not just one particular brand or engine configuration. I think they have a very nice site, and its refreshing to have such a variety...I even like the little rivalries and bench racing threads that keep popping up. They seem to welcome input from turbo Buick owners, and maybe you can get them to open up a turbo Buick forum, but I hope you're just kidding about "taking over"; its the diversity of people and vehicles that makes their UBB so good. BTW...have you checked out the numbers of registered members at some other UBBs? Over 12,000 at LS1.com. Almost 15,000 at CamaroZ28.com. 7600+ at F150online.com. Its a big world out there, and its nice to have a site that allows all these diverse groups to interact. So, rather than targeting them as a threat that needs to be overtaken, maybe it would be better to view them as a non-competitive site that could benefit from some turbo Buick influence?

Yep, I just thought it was a cool board to check out what the competition can do, and wanted to get a few TR owners over there.

Talking

What I meant by overtaking is in number of posts by TB guys in a short period of time. Then the admins. would see the need for a TB section. I see a TB section is up and running now!

I think our hobby can only benefit by another message board. Not trying to take away from existing ones, just having another place to check out fellow enthusiasts is too cool.

I collect old VWs also and visit about 5 VW message boards. If I have a problem or want to help someone, that makes my chances 5 times greater of accomplishing my task.

I think it's a good board. I like chatting with the competition also. They are not all bad

Yep, the forum is growing pretty quick, kinda cool having a few different places to look for info at. Plus, I was at the right place at the right time and got to be the moderator
