| Registered User | How many of you pay enough attention to the gas you put in your vehicles to know if we're getting screwed by the owners miscalibrating the pump? ------------------ Jack Bilger 87 GN TE-60,009's, Coolflow intracooler 12.30 @ 109.6 (@ 96 degrees)

I can say most people don't. How do I know this? I work at a gas station, sometimes at least. Only once has someone come in with a situation similar to yours. Actually, you wouldn't believe how many people pay no attention to the total at all. But I'll say what we told the one guy (in this case the guy was a moron, but that's a long story): we are checked regularly by the DOT and EPA. Sometimes I wonder myself though... ------------------ Dave - aka The Ayatollah of Rock N' Rolla 87 GN T-Top with the basics, 49k miles but you'd think it had 249k "Never has a car been both so awesome and such a POS"

The bureau of weights and measures are supposed to regularly check pumps for accuracy, but.... I've never had a problem around here, but I've filled my bone-dry aux. tank on my motorhome several times, and it's always 27.0 to 27.1 gallons---but once in northern California, I mysteriously fit 29.4 gallons in it, and I was driving on that tank at the time! I bitched, they just laughed... ------------------ Unique accessories for your TR!
