how do you empty the gas tank???

my TTA has been sitting close to 2-1/2 yrs and before I pull the engine out for a rebuild I want to empty the gas tank

how do I build the wires and how do I go about rigging up something under the hood to empty the tank using the in tank fuel pump and a rubber hose at the fuel rail

thanks for any advice

Remove the Schrader valve at the end of the fuel rail. Attach a long 4-5 foot hose leading to a gas container. Using your battery run a wire to the black elec. connector behind the alternator. This will activate the fuel pump and drain the tank.

Just leave the car in S. Philly with a sign that says "free gas, all you can take" over the fuel door. You'll have an empty tank in less than 10 minutes with no effort involved

you dont need to go to all the way to the battery ,

the back of alternator lug works just as good
,just take a short length of wire with a gator clip terminal on one end and a female spade on the other
clip onto alternator 'bat' lug and plug into the FP connector by the a/c lines

on the regals you can use the feed for the hoodlamp for power ,it plugs right into the FP connector

nahh.. the way they replace the fuel pump now in TTAs is to blast a hole in the trunk area and take it out threw the top sooo with that line of thinking just take and ice pick and carefully figure out the lowest point in the tank. Then get a hammer and drive the pick in.. then take it out and put a bigger philips screwdriver in to spread the hole open.. Drain gas and plug the hole with JB weld

ok, finally getting to this project

after looking at pics on how to drain the tank on a GN I went under the hood of the TTA and couldn't find the connector near the alternator

so where is it located on the TTA??

my car does have a hotwire kit on it so do I look for those connections and somehow use those??

thanks for any help

Grumpy said the TTA doesnt have the factory pigtail so run a wire to the pump at the back.

I had the TTA harness in my hybird f body car and no its doesnt have the two black and green test connections.
I drained my tank buy pulling out the fuel relay and using a piece of wire to jump from the RED POS to the ???? I cant remember what color now.
But it can be done under the hood all in that one relay connector.

When the engine is stopped, the fuel pump can be turned "ON" by applying battery voltage to the test terminal located on terminal 'G' of the ALDL connector. ( bottom left
terminal) hook up fuel drain line as in post #2
