so what if I put in a V-8

been thinking about putting a turbo LS1/2 into my TTA

not like my car is a show winner or anything

probably find a 5.3 truck engine and leave it stock except for a cam change then add a turbo

what do you think

You could do it.

All the power you'd might want from a TTA, but with 1/2 the fuel economy of a turbo V6.

Sell me your car cheap, then buy a white GTA for your project. You'd come out ahead by comparison.

I had a freight company driver pick up at my office and he saw my TTA in the lot. He asked if I thought about putting an LS1 in it!! I said no, alky and up the boost and I'd almost be in the 11's. He didn't say anything after that.

I smelled this thread a mile away! Like Kma697 said I would just buy a white GTA hardtop car and slap some TTA badges on it and do the engine in that. I almost thought about that myself as a project car. Would make for a good rocket ship! 89 GTA's sell for nothing still. You could probably sell your TTA and just about fund a GTA and engine you want.

I'm pretty sure someone from this board will either buy/forcefully acquire your car before you can put a V8 in it.

Danville PA 17821 about 3 hr drive from NJ border

for now its gonna stay LC2 gotta rebuild it due to a rod knock--my own fault --too much boost and no scanmaster or knock gauge

My 07 5.3 gets well over 20 on the hiway, and weighs nearly 5000#.
Is rated at 315FW, and has a tune on it that puts it near 340.

There are all alum versions of that engine, that would make a NEAT swap, especially w/ a turbo, & the 4L65E...
Sweet!

Oh, then after the swap, you could sell your engine hoist.
