Thumbs up TTA loves TurboTweak!

For the sake of 89 technology.. I decided to try one of Eric's chips in my TTA. Car is bone stock but I wanted to look into a few small things that will help and enhance the car's performance. So far this chip and 160 stat are the only things I've done. My TTA always had that typical Buick engine rock and slightly ruff idle to it. I've seen this in every stock TTA. You know the stock drill.. lean, rich, lean, rich, lean, rich yay 80's emissions! Mine was no different. So while ordering a chip for my GN from Eric I figured I'd try a stock 93 octane chip for the TTA. Well it's like night and day! Car is smooth as silk at idle now and runs way better! I had the car out for a few hours yesterday with the stock chip.. and I had it out today to have it inspected and it was like driving another car! The fast update he has for the Scanmaster 2.1 is awesome. My 02's were a little crappy before and I thought maybe a lazy 02 being it's still the stocker but no.. I was also seeing some slight knock.. maybe as high as 3.0 on the Scanmaster. Well with Eric's chip I have seen no knock now! The most simple thing a chip! Eric's chip now and the 02's are rocking and the car feels much stronger and takes off great! I almost didn't want to put it away today after I came back from having it inspected! If you have a low mile bone stock TTA I would highly recommend at least do one of Eric's chips in your car! You will be happy and your TTA will be happy! Thanks Eric and keep up the good work!!

Oh and for the guys who don't think I drive my TTA I put 740 miles on it since last year!

Thumbs up

What do you mean fast update for scanmaster? Does it say something about that on his website. His chip worked great for me also I just don't recall seeing anything about a fast update. Thanks

It's a mod he does in the programing. Makes the data to the scanmaster faster. You most likely have it. Might be something new he's doing. Shoot him an e-mail for more info!

Boy I couldn't agree more!! It was GREAT getting rid of that 1800-1900 rpm COLD IDLE BS!! And yes the idle is smooth as a Cadillac, although I kept all the factory Timing curves in mine it Still Improved Stock
16 psi boost level performace with pump 98Octane(Zylene mix) as well. Eric really has his chips figured out...

With SM 2.1, I know, you can get "fast update" option--but lose malfunction codes/readout. I didn't go for this option--but now think it was a mistake!

IMO it's worth it for the fast update to loose the malfunction codes. All you need is a reader, direct scan, or paper clip to get them anyway. Eric has a fast update for both Scanmasters. Just have to let him know what ver. you have. So far every Buick owner that's been in my cars says.. "I gotta get that!"
