Seminars at 2008 GS NATS ??

Are there any evening seminars or anything like that going on at the GS NATS this year? I can't find any information about anything this year. Is this one more thing that has died off at the NATS? Has anyone heard of anything going on? We're leaving after work today, arriving in BG in time to make the seminars Thursday evening. Does this mean we won't need to hurry? Thanks, Ron

Full Throttle (Mike Licht) organized the one last year but won't be there this year.

Yes take your time and enjoy the ride. There are no seminars that I am aware of this year. Mike took a much needed year off from the Nats I believe I read somewhere, but has a great "official not going to the Nats" sale going on right now.

It seems like a lot of folks took this year off from attending the Nats. Cotton's, Full Throttle, Casper's, G-Body Parts...
There's lotsa grass showing where the vendors are usually set up. And as of Wednesday nite, there was just one or two guys set up with used stuff.

Maybe they can't afford the vendor fees with the inflated gas prices and choose to give their wallet a rest. That event gets smaller every year.

No maybe about it, that event has the highest fees of any I have ever attended, Buick or otherwise. With the shrinking attendance, the cost of fuel and the high cost of walking in the gate we could not justify the trip, The cost for the seminar alone was a few thousand out of my pocket between the room and the prizes.

If the event was truely kick a$$ gas prices wouldn't be an issue. The crickets you hear more and more at each years event are a direct result of the 'clubs' actions. You can't treat people like crap for years on end and not expect people to lose interest in the cars and the events that are supposed to support them.

Yep. Im here in BG right now. Posting from my room. Rain all day today. This will be my last time coming here. why couldnt the board come up with a yearly gathering? I wonder how much money goes to the people holding the event. Even at 5pm its still 20 to get in and they close at 7.

So, is the following post incorrect? Seems like the two accounts are at odds?

Im in BG as well and I sat on tueday in the swap area and I saw like 12 people coming thru...or maybe it was 6 they came thru twice. Tuesday it rained and I sat on my tailgate and hardly anyone came thru. It looks like most of the people didnt show up till thursday here. I wont be spending the entire week here anymore as well. I agree this event is going to price itsself out of exsistance. I am already making plans to show up in Ohio this year I am sure the costs will be less. Well except the fuel to get there.

It's really hard to get an event goin to please everyone .. to hot , to cold , rain, to far to travel, and so on . Hell we are having an event up here in my woods in June!!! BUT we will have to see how many actually show up!!! Cecil in October should be nice to.. 7 hour trip for us BUT they did have a decent turnout last year when we got thrown out OHHH well ..hope BG gets a decent day today

With the high costs to travel most will choose one event a year in the future. Promoters better think hard about this and offer something real. Not the past glory or new fluff Bad weather sucks but happens at all events.

bowling green

Just came back from Bowling Green. It was a disappointment to say the least. Just a big cash grab I think. It will be my last trip to that event. Columbus is closer, cheaper and Iam sure will grow to be a busy event.
