Input Shaft Check Ball

Is there an easy way to get the cage and check ball out of the front of the input shaft on a 200r4. This is said to speed up lockup. Anyone any ideas

Is this a good mod? I mean what will it help and/or hurt?

in a standard stall converter this works nice, it gives the l/u a shift feel i had a customer remove the check ball in a high stall 9 inch converter & it killed it! i wouldnt reccomend it in a raceing application, but in a pickup with a 700r4 most people love the l/u feel

I have tried it with and without. I found it to be a bit too harsh for a street driven car, when it was removed.
Disclaimer! I like to have my 3/4 lock up set at low MPH, (cruising) but have the release thresholds set for very light throttle input.

Thanks th easy out worked perfect. Precision Vigilante recommends this on there converters I did it on a new Art Carr 9.5 and when the converter locked up even under light pressure it would slam so hard it shook the dash. They told me at Precision they put larger springs in their lockup plate like a standard shift clutch to absorb the hard lock up thereby saving wear on the lockup clutch with very little slippage.
