Raceway Park Last Nite

I went to the Raceway Park Oil down the entire track event last nite,There were lots of guys participating...Which held me to 1 run the entire nite!..

With the street chip in the car,I was starting to lean out on the top end..(o2's dipping into the 680-690's) So I figured I would toss the race chip in,Thinking the extra fuel would help.Well,I did...o2's didnt drop under the 760 the entire run..And actually was around 800 most of the run.(the car likes to be around 730).But Looking at DS,Also showed that the 55's are at there limit...with them being at 100% with the car around 5700 and up to 105% at 6100.A little KR on the shift and a little when I hit overdrive (4*max)

Still running 20psi (actually would of liked to turn it up some last nite,But Directscan told me differently).Looks like I will be needing to move up on the Injectors,Anyone have any 72's lying around they want to unload?

Paul was running last nite also,He was making some nice 10sec passes,But they told us that the air was something like 100-150ft BELOW sea level...Crappy air to run in,But the temps were in the mid 50's.

Here is a little vid of my one pass from last nite, http://videos.streetfire.net/video/0...4c0040226f.htm

I think with a bigger Injector,26 or so Psi,And a good 60' and this car just may slink down near the 9sec zone...Or blow up..One or the other...

very nice pass shawn , 10.86 1.6 60' 100+ 1/8 , and at only 20psi backs up the last run you didnt get a slip for leaving too early that we had to go back to the DS to get the times.
and for those nay sayers who say you need tall tires or slicks , this was on 26" 255/50 16 MT et street radials and car is no lightwieght tipping scales almost 3800#
looks like your car likes the timing of 28* down low but thte 26* in 3-4 was a little much , im sure eric will be getting a call

yes the air was crappy but could have been great if you had the injectors and corrected for it .

the air was extremely dense i heard 150 below sea level was being recorded at the track which lead to lower O2s (leaning )
and it was nice and cool by the time 2000ft of oil was cleaned up (BRR cool) 53deg, to top off an already bad night just after shawn ran another car did the same thing but for only about 1500ft leaving me sitting in the burnout out bx for another hour waiting to make my second and last pass of the night.

last outing wed night i had o2s 750-760 and egts of 1570 with my adjusted non alky race chip (-10% WOT fuel,-1* 1-2, -1* 3-4 ). DS was showing correction of blms going to the lean side so i added a little fuel and lowered boost for first pass and added a little alky and the o2s where still not where i wanted ,saw 695-705s egt 1677 the car likes 715-720 egt 1600 but no KR and was at that time the best alky run yet 1.539 6.81 102.1 10.71 125.80, only about 24 pickup so it did need more fuel .
on next and last pass 2 1/2 hrs later it was cooler almost 10deg so i added even more fuel (now +4% only 6% less than i run on fuel alone ) and a little more alky for safety and pulled a pound a boost out of the top and still saw o2s under 710 and egts high 16s
but it did give me the best run on alky so far
1.546, 6.79@ 101.96 , 10.67 125.96 , 24 psi for 4 seconds then 23 for the rest , left at 8psi timing 25*/24*
didnt get the pickup due to the leaning like the first pass , should have upped fuel at least 8% or dropped boost down to 20psi where shawn was running.

Thumbs up TWO THUMBS UP & THE KICK A$$ SEAL OF APPROVAL!!!!!

Watched the video and that's the way I like to see them run. It looked good and sounded the way they should. When I think of a good running Buick that's what comes to my mind I just can't say enough.

Cool video.. Nice run, Shawnie!

PS: What exhaust do you have on the car? Was that open dump or through the mufflers?

friday is street night must be through mufflers but never been hassled about opening up with a turbo

ive been running closed since alky got turned on, 2 3/4 stainless with magnaflows

he has 2 3/4" exhaust , and i think just cracks his elec dump , just a little , not for performance but to stop the damn butterfly on the cutout from rattling
oh and for mufflers he runs what the car came with ...flowmasters

Shawn, nice run man. Imagine if you ever decided to turn it up a little.

Hey, who did you have to **** to keep running those quick times without getting kicked off the track at Etown? Paully and I run it once and and 20 people come over warning us and announcing over the loudspeakers, etc to get a cage.

Paul... looking good with the alky. Should be well into the 10.5s, maybe a 10.4 with a crazy launch. What tires did you use? Those EGTs are starting to look like mine.....

Oh yeah, my car ran good with the Flowcrappers on it. Don't think it made as much difference as people say. I actually slowed down when I switched to ATR exhaust. Of course, that could have had something to do with the half cm play in my 0.3 bored over stock turbo.
