the cometic 060 gaskets didnt leak . they are good for another goround .. the oil was mostly on passenger side but the piston that failed was #3 driverside

i could slap a piston in and she'd be good to go but then i have the 87 with 030 forged pistons and steel maincaps so i might yank that motor transfer heads cam from 86 to it and reassemble this block with another stock piston and drop it in the firebird , id put the almost stock motor i just built and dropped into the 86 into the 87

Paul

Just out of curiosity, will you do any prep work on the cometics before you reuse them?

Mike

Hmmmm. Lacquer thinner will remove that viton coating or any supplemental sealant treatment (copper spray, hylomar, etc.) applied????
