If Madboost (a fellow team PSI-Chotics racer) stages his car in practice he will be the first Points Series racer to collect Carnage bonus points. He blew a head gasket at the last race.

Good luck to all the PSI-Chotics racers at E-town tomorrow!

Congrats to all the PSI-chotics racers that showed up yesterday and went rounds.

Madboost staged the car and picked up the 5 Carnage Bonus Points for him and the team.

How is everyone doing in regards to being race-ready for the October 4th race at Cecil?

Iceberg and Madboost should be ready, each picking up extra Carnage Bonus Points for their repairs between the last race and this one (transmission and head gaskets).

I got the engine and trans in my car over the weekend and should have it started and on the road for some testing tonight or tomorrow. If all goes well I'll run it at Cecil this weekend to dial it in.

I'm ready for what is always one of the most enjoyable races of the year-- beautiful fall days, low temps & fast running cars!

I'm trying to get the last bugs out of the manual brake setup so I can launch the h3ll out of her in pursuit of a 9.99 pass.

To folks who haven't been to this event before, there is almost always time at the end of the day to make some banzai time trial runs. Here's a pic from a few years back of me, Madboost & Banning after a few personal bests were set and Banning won the event. Taken at the botttom of the staging lanes, right before the tree.

need to reread your rules in order to get carnage points you have to have attended but due to equipment failure (has to meet the criteria you listed) prevents you from scoring any points then if repairs are made and car is entered to run in the next event then points are awarded

yes Bill did pull the trans but at the last event he did do more than attend and time shots ,the trans issues didnt prevent him from making the first rounnd run in eliminations thus he scored points so sorry no carnage points

ted by attending and making a time shot he maintained his status for perfect attendance but he only made time shots+ no first round stage.. so no points at that event ..and he did meet the criteria for carnage so yes if he makes cecil he gets the carnage award points (again) .

i had a headgasket issue that at boost was pressurizing the radiator and pushing out into my overflow which kept me from running the way it should be run and really hurt my chances of scoring more points i did subsequently replace the headgaskets (did it the hard way.. i pulled the heads ) which meets the carnage criteria but in that event i did stage in first round scoring some points so no carnage point for me even if i make it to cecil .

if gary was entered into the buick classes and only made time shots but didnt stage first round and can get his car back for the next event then he too will be awarded carnage points ... but.... only if his repairs requires trans removal which i dont think it does .

Paul makes sense. The rules arent clear.. At least not on the website.

It doesnt mention anything regarding weather or not the breakage prevents you from staging the car in first round eliminations or/thus preventing you from scoring any points for that particular event.

Does it matter when (time runs or elimination rounds) the breakage occured in order to qualify for carnage points? Does staging the car for first round or beyond that nullify eligibility to acquire carnage points?

That seems to be the question at hand.

it does state
5 bonus points will be awarded to any racer that breaks at a Points Series event (practice or eliminations), makes the fixes and stages their car in the 1st round of eliminations at the next event.

but it also states
The point is to award the racer who looses points in one event because of mechanical failure, and thrashes on their car to make it race worthy for the next event (e.g: blown head gasket, wiped cam, broken axle, blown trans). In order to qualify, the repairs must be serious enough to require the removal of one of the following parts:

Engine (turbo, front cover, lower intake manifold, cylinder heads or entire engine).
Transmission (torque converter or complete trans).
Rear (driveshaft, axles, gears/posi/spool or complete rear)

now if you staged broke and lost the round you lost so really you didnt lose points since there really is no way to know if you would have won the round even if you didnt fail

the way i interpereted it was if you show and break before elims then you didnt score any points and the carnage points would give you some points for your efforts that day and your efforts getting the car back in shape for the next event

You are right, my mistake. Neither one of the guys qualifies for the Carnage bonus. However, I do want to state that these rules aren't "my rules". Yes, I took the initiative and wrote them, but they were ones that everyone looked over and agreed upon -- they are OUR rules.

If you all think we should revise the rules now (or for next season), let's do it.
