I don't have one either, but like you its on the list. I can mask it as something for my wife...not the car .

Still need lots of stuff to get and complete. This list is getting shorter each week , except last week. GM sent me to Vegas for free-so nothing got done of course. This weekend is limited to a few hours, next week will be non-stop Fri night to Sunday night most likely .

Anyhow, hope those Fed checks come soon! I need a Alky kit still and some misc other stuff.

well scotty your 11.98 is safe ...for now

first pass 1.78 7.8 87.8 12.33 107.8 23/20 timing ,22 psi... had kr through run but motor has been that way since it went in
launched at 3550 1-2 shift was at 5550 dropped to 4025, 2-3 was 5500 dropped to 4025 trapped at 4950 . 1475 egt

added fuel and alky and bumped to 24 psi
1.68 , 7.70 88.7 12.27 101 , lifting at 1000ft , launched at 3750 got to just past the 1/8th and something went ..pushed out some oil through dip tube , smoked a lot.. no water in oil , none blown into overflow, temps never went over 176 but it smokes out the pipes under load ,,heads might have lifted and gasket (steel shim but not good bolts) is leaking into vally or a piston (or ring ) may have cracked . will know more tomorrow after a compression test followed by a tear down , at least i'll get to see if the bowls had any work and get to see what the deck looks like , word i have was the deck surface was marred from a previous headgasket failure and rather than tear down the motor and deck the block they just bolted it back together , if the deck looks ok those heads wont be going back on .

Is that the old Yuri Motor?? If so, the HG's were blown Several times after that Infamous South Jersey Shop built that motor...I actually took my Heads from my old T (back in '96) to them at the time (thinking that they had done a Lot of Buick work, they Hadn't, only Yuri and Carmello's motors) and After thier BAD porting job I LOST a Solid 2-3mph...wet from 109-110 down to a consistent 106-107, everything else the same!!

Damn, Paulie. Thats not good news. As for my 11.98 pass, Im beginning to think it was more or less a glory pass. Everything was just right at that time for that to happen. Hasnt happened since, no matter how hard I try...

Hope it isnt too serious and you get it fixed up quick. I assume this is the '87 you're speaking of? We may have to line up once just for fun.

What tires were you running? I got my 26x11.50 bias ply Mickeys mounted up yesterday. Fit good, but Im gonna mount both of them and drop the pressure to 17 and see if the hit. I dont think they will.

I hear ya Al. Im considering using whats left of my return and picking up DS or PL. Not sure yet. Ive got more money coming to me, so when that comes I'll pick up a laptop. Was gonna get the LS-1 brake conversion kit, but big brakes wont do me any good with a blown-up car...

You'll like the Mickey ET Streets... My car would blow the tires off if I tried to launch with more than a few lbs of boost when I was on the radials, but with the ET Streets it just goes... They aren't bad on the street either, my car will spin through first gear and most of second if I hit it when they are cold, but once you put a bit of heat in them they work great... Just go easy around corners, and don't change lanes on the highway if you're going fast... They love to get stuck in lane ruts on I95...lol...

Driving is fun with bias-ply's, and it'll make the truck feel like a Corvette when you drive it...LMAO...

yes the 87 with the yuri motor .it did go faster than the 12.5 we were told it was only good for. it still runs but somethings a'miss , there is oil smoke from the exhaust so gasket is the most likely cause (steel shim with unknown cheap bolts) , was too busy today to get to play much with it but looks like #4
