| Atco News, Results and Pictures... I just conducted a couple of long distance phone interviews (from Florida) with some of our Points Series racers at today's event at ATCO... Huber: "It was cold. The gates opened late at 9:00am, but cars were running now and there was a good turnout with LOTS of mustangs. During practice Gregg (1970GSX) was running in the 10.70's. I went on the trailer after the first practice run. I blew another head gasket bad! The car lost traction on the launch and the boost zinged up! They are calling the cars to the lanes again. I gotta go watch." Gregg: "Its a really nice day Here. High 40's with no wind. It's good to not have Banning around. Rhumor has it that he got scared and ran to Florida. Yes, Huber blew a head gasket. Paulie is racing in the electonics class, so I can't take him out for you [i.e.: Banning] I'll tell you what, there are lots of cars here." Wayne: "So far you couldn't have asked for a better day. The drive there was fine, except Jim & Bob Barnes got a ticket crossing the DE Memorial Bridge. I'm racing the GN today. The blue car still has issues with the exhaust fitting. No smack talking going on. The regulars are there and we know better. I had McDonnalds for breakfast. The old Berlin Circle looks nice. Eliminations should start at 1:00pm." Scojack: "Huber lifter another head gasket. Gregg ran a 10.70. Paulie is running in the 10's. Wayne ran a 13.3 on street tires. I think Avon ran a 9.35 or something like that. There's lots of mustangs. That's about it. Everyone is in their 2nd time run right now, I don't think they will get a 3rd. That's it, later!" So, as of 11:50am there were several MAGNA members spectating and the following Points Series racers were there racing: - Huber. - Gregg. - Avon. - Paulie. - Wayne. - Tony. - Mike. - Nick. Good luck guys. Post up pictures and stories when you all get back! ![]() ![]() -Banning.

It was a perfect day for racing. The turnout for the Fords was pretty good. I left at noon and there were still Fords pulling into Atco on trailers... Remember John (& Paul) when you guys pull the motor, to do the heads, give me a call. I would like to help (and learn). Good seeing everyone.. Thanks,

I just talked to Gregg. They had a couple of oil-downs and hold-ups and are now just getting ready to run 2nd round. One mustang blew his motor up so hard that one of the pistons ended up on the track surface! Gregg went out in the 1st round with a red light. Everyone else is still in it. Jay showed up late and couldn't get a tech card, but was able to race under Huber's number and make 1st round. We don't have anything in the rules that says you can't do that, so his points today will count towards the final results.

Paulie just called. He went out in the second round. Ran under his dial by just a couple of hundreds of a second. He couldn't see where the other guy was on the track. Avon is still in it. He just had a bye-run. I believe he is the only other MAGNA Points Series racer left in competition. Once Gregg has a chance to post up the results (he was Event Coordinator), we should be able to post up the end of season results for the Points Series.

| Will Boost 4 Boobies!!! |
Well first off I'd like to thank Huber for blowing it up yet again!!!! In case some of you didn't hear yet, I was running late because I popped the big question to my girlfriend Amanda today. She said YES so that was all good. I had this planned for a few weeks so when they rescheduled this event to today it kinda sucked that I was going to miss this race. Owell, right? She had nursing school today so after she left around 1pm, I got in the Buick raced to Atco ASAP. The front gate would not let my buy a race ticket or even a test and tune ticket because eliminations had already started(so the lady at the gate thought), so I gave her my free admission pass (thanks Mikey!!!) and went into the pits to park with the MAGNA crew. Since Huber was on the trailer already, I used his number to enter eliminations. I had no idea what I'd run since I got there at 1:45ish and had no time trials. So I dialed a 12.1 for the first round. The 10.? car I ran redlighted and I took the first round. I actually ran a 12.08 so I decided to dial down a bit. 2nd round I dialed a 11.99 and ran a 12.24 but ran closer to my dial than the Mustake I ran. Another win for me. Third round I dialed up a bit to 12.05and spun horribly about 80 feet out and ran a 12.4x and lost to a 11.70 dialed Mustang who ran an 11.80. So all in all it was good day, got engaged to the woman I love, it cost me nothing to race with MAGNA boys and got some points in the process. |
