We are not making the race. We told many that we would and planned on getting to E-Town by 9-10:00. I apologize to those that made the trip to see our ESP Twin Turbo car. That being said, you should have seen us this morning when we saw our car still in bare metal; when we expected AT LEAST full primer. I can't place blame in any one place, everything from poor timing to car accidents knocking down power lines (Thursday morning & Friday night), contributed to our missing the event. Please let us know the next time you guys (and gals) get together at the track. On the plus side - more people know about the MAGNA events.
I hope you all have fun and race hard.
Next time.

Good turnout and MAGNA was out in full force. I had a good time despite my car running like a complete piece off poop, knocking it balls off all the way down the track. Seeing 19.9* of KR on the Scanmaster sucks. I checked the Power Logger file and it only showed 15* (like thats is much better??). And once again Hooper beat me both times we lined up, altough I treed him and 60' him.

Well 150 miles and 2 1/2 hr drive just to realize that my speedometer cable was out of the tranny as I was pulling into the staging lane for my first round of racing(zero miles per hour on the digital dash).. sh!t to hell!! Big thanks to Gregg for letting me steal his since he was out at that point with a head gasket. But I couldn't get that darn thing to line up when installing it in my car(the cable needed clocked a little). Mike Armstrong to the rescue, he had it in a couple of seconds. I jump in the car and go to the staging lanes again and it's to late. The first round was over....
But on a side note, a bad day of racing is still better then a good day of work! Which is where I would have been if I was not trying to race. Good to see so many club members there, Mike Armstrong gets the long distance award!
Sorry for getting so many names wrong, I need name tags... the 70's and 80's where a #itch on my brain cells.
The exsperience of the club really shines on the guys with track time, I kinda feel like I'm about 20 yrs past my prime, but I still have fun... no speed limit not tickets and no points going down the track!!
On the drive home at least three different cars pulled up beside me, honked on there horn and gave me the thumbs up...
Off to the Baltimore Orioles game to lose some more brain cells

Chuck

Here are some pictures of the event...

The weather was beautiful on Saturday - a great day for racing!

Here's our pit spot, right along the fence - a good spot to watch the action.

Watching the racing during Eliminations.

"Hey look, Mike Fareri just rain a perfect dial!!!"

Mike didn't just run a PERFECT DIAL... he also had a PERFECT REACTION TIME!

Enjoying some shade up in the top of the stands.

We didn't mean to, but we chased these people out of the stands with our Monte Carlo Fast comments!

Paul Miller holding his PERFECT REACTION TIME and round winner timeslip.

Here's Paul's timeslip.

Huber loading a wounded GN on his trailer.

Jay packing up for the trip home.

The MAGNA crew after a good day at the track!!!

See ya next time guys!
-Banning.
