My last post on this thread was 7-14-06, and I was all pumped up to go... I know that everyone is tired of all the excuses and you guys don't want to here this but.... I have the boys this weekend and that means that I have to be back in York, Friday by 3pm, to get the kids at the bus stop. Which would mean leaving the track about 1:30. I have the vacation time to use for Friday but not sure if it would be worth all the running around.. What would I need to run the car on the track, helmet, saftey loop? I would just run my street tires, I would like to get one pass in if I go.... I could be there before the gates open. Would like to know what advice you guys could throw my way.

Chuck

The gates open at 9:00am. I plan to be there no later than 8:30am.

Be there early!!

Don't complain when you get there and there aren't spots. Space is limited. It is a lot smaller than ATCO or E-Town.

Not sure how fast you plan on going, but if you are 13.99 or faster you'll need a helmet. As long as you are 12.0 or slower they really don't check anything (sh!t, they only check my harness & helmet dates on my car!).

Gates open at 9:00, racing should start by 10:00 (if track is dry). I'd guess that eliminations would start at 12:00. Assuming there are no accidents or oil-downs, I'd expect that you should be able to get 2-3 practice runs. Possibly more if you hot lap.

Hope you can make it.
-Banning.

Maaan I always have plans when you guys are doing this stuff! I'll be spending most of Saturday rehabbing an NA Regal for a buddy of mine..me and all my wonderful bracketry (wrist brace and now elbow brace). Tendonitis in both arms SUCKS when you wanna work on cars!!! If it weren't for this I'd come down and maybe even do a run on the GN just to embarass myself.

Bill - take notes for me!

Hey guys, I just wanted to mention a couple of last minute things before Saturday's race...

#1: Detour to Track.
As of this past Sunday, the road leading to the track (Theodore Rd) was closed and they had a detour setup. I don't know if it is still this way, but just wanted to let you know as the detour signs they had up were hard to see and once you get down the road with a trailer behind you it is tough to turn around. Instead of turning left on Theodore Rd, keep going straight for about 1mi, then turn left at the detour sign. Stay straight, and this will dead-end right at the main gate of the track.

#2: Once at the track, let's all meet at the red MAGNA tent at 10:00am.

Let's all meet at the red MAGNA tent at 10:00am Saturday morning so that we can:
1) Go over the Points Series rules.
2) Do a brief recap of past/future races & points standings.
3) Draw names out of the hat to pick the Event Coordinator.
4) Have the Event Coordinator put all our names into the points tracking sheet for the event.

NOT racing your car that day????

Don't forget that you can still get 15 Bonus Points for being Event Coordinator even if you are NOT racing. As long as you are registered for the series, and you are picked to be Event Coordinator, you can get the points.

Haven't registed yet???

You can do that at the track. Find Banning or the Event Coordinator and they'll sign you up.

**IMPORTANT**
RACERS: Don't forget that it is YOUR job to find the Event Coordinator before you leave for the day and make sure they have your info correct (name, round points, bonus points, etc.).

See you all at the track Saturday morning. Don't forget that the gates open at 9:00am. Be there early to get a pit spot.

Till then,
-Banning.
