Whats the problem with the oil pump? Low pressure? If you know that all he did was change the oil, then $120 is way too much! It costs me about $50 to get a full Mobil-1 oil change on my GTP at a pricey but good garage near work (in a rich neighborhood).

| Which Mackey is that? |
what the hell will!!! get your money back....the most expensive oil change in the world is what you just got!!!!! Did the guy do any other work? is the car still dripping???? if so, let me take it back and i'll make sure he does it right the second and last time!!! if he is any type of decent mechanic, he will stand by his work and fix any mistakes he may have made for free....where did you take your car? You gotta go see Jim Testa in Dover....he really is the best one locally, other than stage 1 that I would trust to work on my car....Artie, in the club too....I think his name here is njbuickracer or sumthin like that! he is a good mechanic. Besides....If none of them can help you out, with me, all you pay for is parts....you can come to my shop anytime, and we can work on your car after school if you want!!! let me know.... first things first, get that idiot to fix your car right. tell him you paid 120 to correct a problem, so get our 120 worth. An oil filter comes with the damn o-ring, so there is no way he can say he replaced that!!! lol....Get him to fix it and black list him if he doesnt make good with his work!! John

No, it just leaks when the car is running, and i have the receipt with wat he did? it says here, 14.50 for cleaning engine...bullsh*t, replace engine oil filter O ring, 72.50, bullsh*t, then i payed more for parts, degresser, 6 bucks, oil filter 6.56, and motor oil 12.80. He prolly put in some crap ass oil, and the oil and filter on it were fine, not that old and it was mobil 1 in there and the proper ac delco filter. I am just amazed how he totally did what i didnt say and went threw with doing this and then has the balls to tell me that i have to keep it there another day because he didnt know that i wanted the oil leak fixed from the booster plate. Friggen ignorance, he prolly did this purposly to get me to come back and make me pay more, well i said "No, ill take it today and bring it back some other time", if he expects me come back, he better do a friggen full car restoration for free. thats how fed up i am with that place. $72 for an "oil filter O-ring"..like the one that comes installed on an oil filter?!?!? Does the pump have an o-ring too? (been a while). Sounds like total BS to me, and since Walmart charges at least $22 for a 5 quart jug of Mobil-1, I doubt thats what he put in. What exactly are you referring to when you say "booster plate"?

Pump doesn't have an o-ring. Go back to the clown, get your $$ back...does your state have a bureau of auto repair? If so, make his life miserable.....

A booster plate, is also called like a spacer, its to put bigger gears inside the oil pump for more Pressure, the guy who i bought the car from put it on the car. Heres a pic of mine leaking, its hard to see where the oil is leaking from, but when i showed him in person and this was clean and he also knew exactly where i was explaing the problem to be, I am starting to get crazy now, time to calm down. Will P.S.- John, i can never get a hold of u because ur never online and i dont have ur e-mail or phone number, i would be glad to come work on it at the shop all the time. I think in another thread i said something like i was looking for you, but u never posted back, oh well. time to CHILLL out b4 i explode. |

Ah ok. That should be a (relatively) easy fix I think....just a handful of small bolts to pull, new gaskets, and pack the pump with petroleum jelly so it primes when re-installed. Should've been an hour job tops.

Yeah, thats what he told me, but when i got there and listened to his BS about how he thought i meant just replace the O Ring, i just abought had a heart attack. Oh well, what am I gonna do? I got played and now just have to wait even longer to put bolt ons on my car. Sucks when you pay for something and dont get it. And the sad thing is, i have been told by plenty of people that he is good and that he is respectable, aparently, i did not get this "treatment" that others get. I will never be returning to this shop again, period. Thanks, Will |

sounds like he replaced the O ring between the oil filter adapter and oil pump housing. he is right to replace the oil filter though- you dont reuse oil filters- most of the time they get damage while taking them off. he is also right for charging out the degreaser and the clean job as long as he cleaned it- i always charge for that, if not that money for the degrease comes outta his profit. take it back to him and make him do it right though
