POLL: MAGNA Points Series Racers...

Please only post/vote if you are a MAGNA Points Series racer.
(Check to see if you are on the list.)

QUESTION:
*If* we have bad weather on any of our race days, and an event is cancelled, what should we do?

Some of the tracks will have a rain date for these events, but others may not (e.g. Buick Day at Cecil last year). Should we go with a track choosen rain date, or should we just write off that event and wait for the next one on our list?

Keep in mind that if we go with a rain date it may make it hard for a lot of the racers to attend.

Please only post/vote if you are a racer that is currently signed up. This thread/poll will stay open for one week (closing Sat 4/1).

-Banning.

rain date

i would go with the rain date.we still have some room to play with because we are only counting 4 of the 5 races.but what ever you decide i'am in!
i live above williamsport and if the weather is crappy i dont think i will take the chance on driving that far.i called dan smith around 9:30 this mourning and he said it's looking bad for tomorrow.

I say rain date and here's why: if (God forbid) 4 of 5 events were rained out on the original day then the series would be decided by one event, which seems less than optimal to say the least.

Agree that the rain date may make it hard for racers to attend, but the same could be said for any of the currently scheduled dates.

Good idea to poll, but I'd also support an informed executive decision (either way).

It's hard to decide really.

Rain dates make it though, and unfair to those who have set aside plans and/or taken off work to attend the original date, but can not on the rain date.

On the other hand, if the God-forbidden happens again, the number of points events gets dwindled down.

I dunno. More feedback?

I voted to ditch the race. It's not that I don't want to race, it's more about time and money. It took more than 2 1/2 hours and cost over $100.00 in fuel and tolls to get to Atco. That's change for some, but that took a good chunk out or my racing and parts fund.
But on the other hand I probably live the fartherest away from two of the tracks. Should one race be ditched for the minority? In the real world they wouldn't.
