Good Time @ Cecil Tonight

Had a good time hanging out tonight guys.

Matt: Congrats on the new best tonight witht the GN. I'll let you share the details, but I would have given anything to have along for the ride on that best pass.

Mike: Good job running the 300ZX tonight. Pretty impressive for a car designed to handle. A 12.8@110 isnt bad at all.

Wayne: That Firebird is flat out FAST. I couldnt beleive how fast that car is. How bad was the vibration during the runs? When I was in it at the shop, it shook the whole car. That thing has alot more left in it. Seems to hook good, but the 60's could be a little better; IMHO.

Larry: Pretty decent night for you as well. 12.2s on the stock turbo aint bad at all. The whole "Monte" part was f*cked up . Anyway, time for a modern chip for the car. Should pick up alot with a TT chip. Sucks that you broke a stud when you swapped the slicks off. Get that fixed up in a hurry.

Not a bad night at all. Great air for turbo cars, although I was freezing most of the night.

Larry's car is impressive on that stock turbo and 009's!

I'll skip over my 12.1 and 12.2 pass details, and just cut straight to the chase..

60' 1.668
330' 4.844
1/8 7.542
MPH 90.92
1000 9.875
1/4 11.861
MPH 113.16

110 octane, ~25 psi, street chip with the timing turned up a little, 22 psi in the M/T drag radials, ~8 psi launch.

Yea, I had a great time. I'm very happy with the car 12.29 @109 and I know it will go faster. I'm still not sixty footing or 1/8th miling the car like I do back home.

Oh and Matt had fun on our run, don't forget to include that on the details on your run in with the stock turbo'd car just messin with ya man.

Third pass, its Me and Larry.. They were rushing the lights trying to get all the cars out and close (after a lengthy cleanup..) So I fumbled at the light a little as Larry took off. Well I thought I could catch him, blow by, and piss him off, but I just couldnt. I was reeling him in little by little, but just wasnt enough time in the quarter. He went 12.3 @ 109.3, to my 12.1 @ 112.9, but I left late and 60' footed bad so he just got there first. I didnt want to beat him up, so I let him have a head start.

Glad you made it home alright, man. Fix that broken stud... ARP studs.

Yep, it was a great night for everyone... Matt, you have a quick street car man that thing looked great going down the track.. The wifes car was quick, it was the FRIST time it was ever on a drop strip. The car was strong pulling at the top end with 12psi.. i pulled a 1.990 60'ft on that 12.8 pass, if that 60'ft was around a 1.80 at car should have pulled a 12.6 pass .. Not bad for being on 93 gas at 3500 pounds and lowered..

Now all i have to do is get the Wife to let me drive the car more offen ..

Congratulations Matt !!
That is the number I hope to hit this weekend at Cecil. Have to get below my 11.90.

I hope with the cooler weather and the track conditions, it will happen.

Nice job !

and our car is same old same old it ran 12.3@111 which i think is due to the cold air compared to the 12.7s it usally runs. were getting rid of the chip and getting a turbotweak chip. and then betting direct scan because we have an old laptop. i should a ran my cobra last night but my dad would not let me because i ran it last week and he doesn't want me tearing it up i think he's Jealous i had fun, matt nice runs i only seen the first one i left with my dad.

Thanks Joe. The weather last night was perfect turbo car weather. Timeslip said 50 degrees, but it felt colder then that. Ask my g/f, and she'll tell you it was 20 degrees.

Mike, I didnt think the Z had all that in it man! That sonofabiotch is quick!

congrats on the great run matt
welcome to the 11's

i had to check my slips and you almost reached my top MPH 113.33 , but your slip shows your car has me beat . 11.6's are in your immediate future,
was that locked and what timing were you running ... give up the details

I tried the 28 tires (slicks) and i found no advantage other than lower trap rpms , ets were down over the 26" DRs . best i could muster wed night at 25psi was 71*, RT .250, 1.660 ,4.814 , 7.544 , 89.59, 9.922(1000) 11.940, 111.46

heres a slip from the 7th that is close to yours
69*,RT .268, 1.660, 4.798, 7.511 -90.24, 9.868, 11.876 , 111.94

Was a good night. Real cold though. How about that SVT Lightning with NOS that melted down after going 11.76@118. All kinds of oil on the track from it. I dont wanna know how much that bill is gonna be.

Matt's the new Sherriff in town.

Looks like Gregg is gonna have a fight on his hands at Buick Day.

What combo? My car is stock.

In my first post were the tune details. That was locking the converter right after the shift into 3rd gear. It bogged a little when I locked it, and pulled 7* timing for an instant, then was 0.0 on the scanmaster the rest of the way down.

I think I could have knocked the 60' down a little more, but the last pass was a fumble. The track went to hell anyway, from all the cars cooling down over the cleanup break, then firing and pouring condensation out their tailpipes.

I was trying to launch it around 10 psi, but didnt manage. I'll try again next time. I'm pretty sure I can cut closer to a 1.60 if I try.

How about that guy in the V6 Mustang burning ya down. I would have smacked that guy upside the head. Moron. Still a good run, but probably would have been better if that wouldnt have happened.
