Strange happenings

Had the car out today. It got dark and when I turned the headlights on, the car stalled. I turned the lights off and tried to restart. The car sputtered and died. Tried one more time and the car started fine. I got no ses light and no codes on the scanmaster. What gives??

The battery is only a month old but it was sitting for a while. Scanmaster shows 13.8-14.0. Could it be because the battery had not fully charged yet?

It is starting to seem like every time there is an electrical load the cars idle drops and sometimes it tries to stall. When the car is running the sm shows 13.8-14.0 and it never drops below 13.5, but a significant load causes a bad stumble .

I just had this same kind of problem. I had a short in on of my wires(can't remember which one it was for) My car was running and I saw a little smoke on the drivers side didn't think anything of it. Then car sputtered and dies. Checked the wire going to the ECM for power I was only getting 5volts. checked the wires under dash found small exposed wire possibly touching ground. Replaced.
Jumped battery car started right up. If you got no check engine light and no Scan Master there is not enough power going to ECM. Anyway hope this helps also going to change spark plugs since after my engine cranked back on had lots of gas fumes. Just waiting until it warms up a bit to do my spring cleaning 2010.

Just read your thread again confused is your scan master working after your car stalled??
If not working check ECM wire if working I would ask what on your car do you have that would be a significant load? it should not stall just by turning headlights on. Any recent
wire work done. New gauges, stereo, other...

Either the battery is dropping a cell when an electrical load is imposed, or, as above, you have some form of short...check the fusible links as they come off the starter and make sure they are not touching the exhaust. Also check the main battery cable to the starter to make sure it is not laying close to something it can short to. Might also give a gentle tug on the orange ecm wire/fusible link coming off the battery positive terminal and make sure it does not stretch or come apart when you do.
