Installed correctly meaning your block and heads must have a smooth Ra finish.
I recently switched to the RJC steel shim I like it it seems to be a true reusable gasket where the Cometics had some wear and tear on its thin coating and fire ring area.

Staying out of detonation is always a good idea to ensure head gasket longevity.

The Victor Reinze are good for stockish builds.
I didn't realize RJC were reuseable? I just finished installing a set.

Neither did I. I did know Cometics were (for perhaps 3X...) & mine are now in their 2nd use (1st re-use...) in 07 rebuild & typical 23 psi boost operation since...

[David--I'm still using the "modified" Dutt-neck IC...]

What kind of pistons?

Stock pistons=stock gaskets.

Forged pistons.. can handle better gasket.
