Question Rollerrockers and cam quesions...

I was just curious if I think I hear ezcessive vavle train noise should I do a running adjustment. I am running T&D Roller Rockers w a Comp 206/206 roller package. I set the lash accordingly but I still dont like the sound. I know there will be some but its too loud for my tate. Another question is how lopey is a 206/206 cam? The idle seems much different than the cam I had in there (dont know what it is bc from prev owner). The vac seems to go from 15"-18".. Is that normal for this cam? My old was good at a steady 18"... Tia Psycho 6.....

How did you set the lash and what's the preload? Also adjustable rockers are for a few thousands adj. and can't makeup for incorrect length pushrods. T

I went with Comp cams suggestions (in their booklet). Cant remember off hand. I was told these pushrods would work. Again thats all relevant but these pushrods should go w this cam and rockers..It sounds like a sbc thats nds a valve adj. Is it even worth trying to do a running adj? This car has me @ my ends... Thx Ed...

Again, you better check the pushrod length, preload and valvetrain geometry or all you work and money will go in the toilet.

Just have to pull the valve covers and check. the lopey could be caused by many things including what I said above.

It should be pretty steady vacuum wise.

You cannot rely on the book, or Comp, or any vendor to tell you that the pushrods will work as there are a number of variables in the equation.

Listen to Ed and check the preload.

I have a 210/215 roller set up....and everyone said that they rollers sound like sewing machines on steroids...well mine makes less noise than the conventional set up....if it wasnt for the exhaust I sometime wonder if it is running...holds steading 18# vacum and only sound lumpy on initial start up....

another thing to check is that the push rods are not coming in contact with the body of the rocker arm . on the newer style T&D's you'll notice that they have been notched out/deeper more in the push rod travel area than the older style .best way is to inspect rocker body and look for any signs of wear marks or signs of push rods coming in contact . I had to take a small die grinder on the older T&D's I had , and slightly work that area . I'm also using a slightly bigger push rod as well .

Mine is kinda noisy. Kinda like a sewing machine I guess. I have a 214/210 and it has a little lope, mostly when warming up. But theres still a hint warmed up

Same setup as mine exactly. Just the first min of startup & then very quiet.
