86-87 ECMs

I have heard that the 86-87 ECMs that are used in the GNs were also used in other GM cars. Does anybody know which ones?

I would also like to be able to do the firmware updates to the ECMs for the bigger injectors. Does anybody here know where I can get the drivers and the equipment to do so?

I appreciate any and all help.

There was a post a few months back that listed all ecm's used or possible to use. Do a search & you should find it.

I thought you were building a twin-turbo 1500hp car? I think you will need more then a stock ecm. Look into Motec, BS3 or Fast systems.

Wow, how much you all remember! Yea, I'm still working on that, I've got the block, heads, intake just about done (paid for). Next, I'll be getting the insides of the engine. Man, what an expense, but its coming along. I'm also working on getting the frame and body ready for all the power that this will be putting out.

I need the ECM for my Ttype that I have running now. I am also wanting to get a few ECM's and the equipment to do the firmware update so I can get some spare ECMs. I also found your list on the ECMs that GM used on our cars as well as other models. Here it is:

do any of these cars have a distributor instead of a coilpack? i found an old buick FWD in the yard the other day. saw the dist. and walked on. i got to thinking that an 86 might have a dist. just wondering if any parts off that car would work on our cars. MAF looked similar.

The 1227148 ECM was only used on DIS SFI cars. The only distributor SFI 3.8 that I know of is the 1985 C-Body Park Ave/Olds 98 and it doesn't use this ECM.

Edit: I have used ECMs for sale. Tested and ready to ship. $45.00 each shipped to your door.
