detent Cable

guys,Can anyone tell me the gm number for the 86/87 gn detent/kickdown cable?i heard they are discountinued but the gm number will help.also any aftermarket companies /part numbers would be appreciated thanks..in advance

I think they are still available(but not really sure) and the GM part number is 25532115. We were able to get one in Canada from a GM dealer late last year.

I think in the book they are called "Throttle Valve (TV) Cable" as it isn't really a detent/kickdown cable. So when you speak to your parts guy make sure the description is as such.

There is a universal one available too but you need to cut it to length and/or adjust the stopper on it. It's the same use for the 700r4 as well.

You can use the one from a Regal w/ 307 v8 equipped w/ 200-4R.
It requires a very small modification, a cable stop or spacers have to be placed an inch or so on the cable to make up for the slightly longer cable after the throttle arm connector.
Pretty easy. This is something done by Eric Shertz on my Hybrid project, you can use electrical barrel crimps or lead cable stops available at Lowes home Depot Etc.
The cable is Pioneer part Number CA-1937
