egr leak

so i tried my leak tester this weekend found a couple of small leaks and 1 big one the big one was the egr valve i went to 6 different stores to try and find a new gasket for it only to find out the egr itself was leaking the air was coming out the stem. so i scrambled out to fing a egr valve for a 20 year old car auto zone had one but it looked different and had an orifice washer and no protruding button (how am i going to make sure its in the right spot) so i try it anyway put the leak tester back on and it still leaks does any one know where to get a new egr from and what is the part # the turbo regal site is down its like 10 numbers long and starts with a 17

most places dont have the right one even if its listed for the turbo..napa was the only one who had the correct one bolt egr I had....they gave me the two bolt one which was listed for it but it was wrong...look at the Napa catalog with the pics, you will get the right one. they didnt have it in stock, but showed one in their NJ warehouse two weeks ago when I looked

FITS and works are two different meanings. It might be a moot point on an all out race car but it makes a difference on a DD IMO. The OEM part number(17111570) is discontinued from GM/Delco. And I see even in Delcos budget line the turbo also shares with the NA so I don't have any good suggestions either. To bad I dont have any specs for them. It would be nice to know if the turbo replaces the NA or whether the NA replaces the turbo. The only difference is the size of hole drilled into it.

all I have seen come with a set of washers to put in to approximate the orifice.

What difference does it make, anyway? The TT chip does not use the egr function

my biggest concern was the leaking, the autozone one is hard to locate because it doesnt protrude into the manifold like the stock one

so this weekend i put the new egr in, replaced the bad check valve, and j-b welded a small crack in one of the vacuum lines that i found with the leak tester and presto blm's went to 128 (they were at 137)

the leak tester worked i never would have found any of this without it!!!

now onto a small oil leak and a broken exhaust hanger.

Sounds like a good tool to have in your tool box. Can anyone tell me where these leak detectors can be bought? Any further description and part numbers would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dave
