gbody parts downpipe

Anybody using a gbody parts 3 inch down pipe?Hows the fitment.Looks really close to the body and the frame. They claim a mininum of 3/8 clarence. Is this enough clarence to keep it from hitting with stock mounts?

I hope this isn't typical of GBODY DP's but here's my horror story. To be fair I installed new stock motor mounts to give this DP every chance of fitting correctly. Not only did I have to pound the living sh!t out of this DP to get it to clear the frame but I also had to drill the exhaust flange holes oversize because the center to centers on the exhaust flange weren't the same as the exhaust turbo housing, so the bolts wouldn't thread in. Whether this is typical of a GBODY DP, I don't know.

I don't know what to say. I've seen this pipe Beachbum is talking about, it's about the same quality as Ebay headers.

is it this one pipe or are there simular issues??

down pipe

Well i think this down pipe was a reject sitting on the shelf and unloaded it to some one in canada and my buddy Brad got it total S##T when you got to redrill the holes and beat it with a 10lb hammer to clear the frame and upper control arm there is some thing wrong.

Mine fit good! Only problem was the puck was very sloppy with side to side movement. Figured out where I wanted it & put a tiny tack weld inside to keep it there. That was Norbs handiwork!
Other than the slop issue its fine? Seals good etc. Maybe you got a bum one? I would have sent it back!

I'm sure G body parts will sort it out with you. Brian may have got a bad batch. I would email him and work something out if you don't wan't to ship it back, maybe a partial refund.

All the ones Ive seen have fit great. Maybe its just as simple as you got one out of a bad batch. I was gonna order one, but jumped on a brand new THDP instead. I picked it up and saved money. It fit the first time and I have no complaints. The TA downpipes fit great too.

Um, if I may, is there another brand new THDP around that's cheaper than Gbody? I'll take one, please.
