oiling issues

I recently had a timing chain issue no teeth left on the cam gear. This put metal in the oil pan. I removed the pan and cleaned the pan and also took the oil pump apart and cleaned it but somewhere I must have missed something because I now have an issue of no oiling (lifters and rockers rattling like crazy). Is there some way to remove the oil pan and pickup tube and back flush the system to get whatever is blocking the oil passage. What are my options at this point short of pulling the motor and doing a rebuild?

Did you prime the oil pump after you put it back together?

Yes I did prime the oil pump and it is pumping I drove the car with no issues for 2 days but today I got valve train noise and it doesnt seem to be oiling on top end so I assume that some contaminates are blocking the oil galley somewhere?? Dont know. Also I took the line from the oil cooler off today and it was pumping oil out there just fine but no oil to the top end.

Buzzard that I dont know I was driving it. Had put about 120 miles on it after putting it back together. Everything had been fine I went to get in it for a full throttle blast it made a pop sounded like a balloon busting and then it went to rattling like it had 12 flat lifters.

Pop?? Maybe check the oil, and the rad. Could be the "pop" was a head gasket letting go, and you are now "oiling" the lifters w/ water/oil mix.
What's the oil psi gauge reading??

No wasnt a head gasket no fluid lost on either part no antifreze in oil etc. Just the driverside valves chattering maybe it is a spun cam bearing dont the drivers side oil off the #1 cam bearing???

Was the pop the o-ring on your oil filter letting go??

Like old buzzard says what does the oil pressure gauge say?

Pull the drivers side valve cover and see if you can feel a bunch of slack in the pushrods, or run it for a few seconds and verify that all pushrods are spinning.

Guys I want to thank everyone who chimed in but my problems have been solved. The little plastic locks that hold the rocker arms in place had broke and bent two pushrods so I replaced all the push rods and all the locks and so far so good. Once again THANKS GUYS you guys are the greatest!!!
