R.I.P, sad day

After 3 and a half years, 3 ngines and 3 transmissions, countless amounts of sweat and blood and waaaaaaaaay too much money. I decided to part with my GN. I was in the trunk getting ready to add some mini tubs and a notch job when I found more rust. I said to hell with this car and my daughter and I started taking parts off. Sucks, I've been avoiding this for a couple years now but time to do it. What really sucks is I have new XFI on its way. Oh well. Oh yeah, and another kid.

Im going to buy a Sawzall tomorrow and make little pieces out of it

That rust isnt too bad you caught it early.
I have seen alot worse.
I have owned alot worse, still makes a good driver, hate to see another car go to pieces.

But if you insist, do you have a full set of seat belts?

I haven yet to decide exactly what Im going to do with it. Im looking into a body shop that can do the metal work with no frame under the car.

I have decided what you are going to do for you! You have a daughter I don't care how old she is and you have another on the way which tells me you have someone special in your life.

Your going to get this person and your daughter to write to OVERHAULING and get Mr. Chip Foose to bring your baby back to life for you. I am sure there are a thousand reasons why your car and you deserve it.

In the mean time I am going to make sure that no one in your area, lends sells or rents you any kind of cutting equipment. It looks like you have room for the car so please don't get hasty. It's really not that bad.

Throw a tarp over it and wait it out. Probably everyone here has a "I shouldn't have sold my _____ " story out there. Mine was a mint 63 Biscayne 2 door post 6 cyl car back in 1982...what did I know? Leave it for a few months and don't do something you'll regret later.

Just my .02 cents.

I could understand the original poster's disgust and frustration, but I have to agree with the majority, don't do it! You'll be very sorry you did later on. That rust is nothing compared to what my old '89 Iroc Z28 had back when I was restoring her. She's still worth restoring later on though, isn't she bro....?
