Is this the build sheet?

Found this in the driver's side door panel. Is it the build sheet?

I think it might be just the interior option list or something. . .

Good evening sir. What you have their is what I believe to be the hardware build sheet. I'm a 22 year GM vet. PM JDODMAN. I think he will back me up on this. There are separate build sheets for each area of the plant. Body, hardware, trim, chassis, etc. You may find more in the car. PM me if you do and I will tell you what area of the plant they came from. Brad

Yep Brad knows his paperwork. That is for the interior and some of the exterior trim. The boys at Pontiac must have been really efficient because you very rarely find the build sheet for our cars. Either that or that dealer PDI guys tossed them in the trash. I have seen the Pontiac built cars have them hogged ring to the back seat or under the passenger seat like Boid said. I have also found partial build sheets like that one tucked up under the hood insulator. I've have found the big build sheets under the trunk mat and on top of the fuel tank.

To bad our cars weren't like the Rivieras I have. There are about 6 build sheets in every one. Under the floor mat, on top of the headliner,on top of the hood insulator, under the seats and under the trunk liner. One would think that the guys on the Linden NJ line didn't like to take out the trash.

I like to decypher those build sheets. They are very informative in a way. The neat thing is that they have the ordering dealer listed on it. I've got a mystery 84 Riviera T-Type. The build sheet says that the ordering dealer was Buick Motor Division and it has a build date of 9-83 with a fairly low VIN. I wonder if this was some factory big cheeses demo? Its almost fully optioned with the only big dollar item missing being the astroroof. It has leather/suede seats,C68,DelcoBose and power everything.I bought that one from the local repo guy as a parts car. I also used to have in my possesion what I beleive to be one of the very last Riviera T-Types built in 85. To bad the bodies rusted out on both of these cars. It would have been neat to have the first and last hot air Rivs made.

I wonder how hard it would be to reproduce the build sheets. I know the counterfeit ones are all the bane(or should that be bust) of the collector car guys. You'd have to be a real expert to figure out if it was a phony one anyway. I guess that wouldn't be a big problem with the TR with all of the reVINned cars that I have pointed out on eBay in the last couple of years. Some people aren't very smart in that respect.

Eric,
I have only found the one under the seat.I would be interested in having a build sheet reproduced according to my car's specific features.Does anyone reproduce these? It seems most of them were thrown out. This would be a neat item to have.

I found my build sheet behind my back seat. I have also heard that they could be in the doors panels.

That is a part picker tag. Its a tag the warehose uses on replacement parts. And from the looks of it I'd say its at least 15 years old or older. The design of them has changed quite a bit over the years. Was it loose or attached to a part? There is no part number on it so I cant tell what it is for.

Edit: Duh I just looked at again and I see the date of 4/89 on it. The seat frame has been replaced on your car. I wonder why? I very rarely sell parts like that. It must have been replaced under warranty.
