jasper

I bought my GN from a guy in N.Jersey 3 1/2 years ago and he had a Jasper engine in with 35K. After 16 mos. and 7500 miles, I ripped out a head gasket. I didn't race the car or abuse it. I called Jasper about the warranty and was politely dismissed. YOU BE THE JUDGE!

no one is being negative. i just dont get what the problem is. i ran the hell out of my original motor. i mean.. i relaly ran it hard. i know i easly put 100 passes on it and what ever happend before i owned it. when i pulled it, it still ran very well.. there is mad play in the timing chain and a leaky head gasket. me personaly would save the money.. thats just me though.

Jasper's has a bad rep for quality control. Some have had good results, but others have found the engines to be put together with parts not able to withstand turbo boost. So it's a gamble. Better to spend the money with Jack Cotton, or Conley's, or one of the known BUICK engine builders.

jasper

Plumb forgote to mentin, when we disembled the engine, found three cylinders had been sleeved, the bore wass 40 over and with piston at tdc, you could nicely see tooo much of the compression rings. My buddy and I both said "WTF" is this. Quickly trashed the thought of replacing HG'S and got another engine.
